I was new to the area and quickly checked the review and saw 4.5 rating. I figured that was good enough and so I went in. It’s an old place really, and the atmosphere was friendly but things looked dingy to me. The water they give in a blue bottle tasted like tap water, actually and I know the difference. The condiments are typical standard diner... I ordered Belgium Waffle which I LOVE and they were not so great…not warm at all..slightly cold. I also ordered egg whites and sausage and they were better than the waffle, though. The decaf coffee was actually and sadly, the best part of the whole breakfast. Spent $20 which included a 35% tip that my waitress deserved.. I never blame the waiter or waitress for bad food..I blame the cook!. Ironically, I overheard a man rave about this diner to a new customer. I thought to myself, “maybe it was a matter of what I ordered on the menu?”…maybe breakfast is their weak point but either way I don’t have any plans...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal Tina’s customer for 20 plus years and since Tina has left and sold the buisness food quality and service has been awful. I’ve been several times since ( trying to give them a chance)and have found hair in my food on multiple occasions (no one wears a hairnet/hat), eggs often come back raw, paid for extras without getting it, prices have increased/more charges for less food and the costumer service needs improvement! This use to be a staple in the Bushwick community, with a welcoming family/at home feel for generations and it’s sadly declined, it doesn’t feel as welcoming as it once did. This was one of the few places that “ old school Bushwick” had left and a true sense of community. Unfortunely after several attempts to like this new place I will have to look for another breakfast spot....
Read moreI usually come here often with my parents. The atmosphere is usually cool ( although they’re a bit cheap with the ac).. Today will be the last time stepping foot in this place. People should be seated in an orderly fashion. It’s 100 degrees today and I went for breakfast with my family. We get in the restaurant and have to wait to be seated (that’s fine). Then a younger group of 2 comes in and the staff greets them and completely ignores us as if we weren’t there. Then asks them if there’s 2 to be seated, mind you my family of 3 were there before them waiting to be seated. The staff then proceeds to argue that the table that was available doesn’t seat 3 people ( even though we sat in that same table countless of times). If you want to keep the hype of Tina’s alive by only serving younger crowds…. then...
