I am a construction union worker. I came here bc the 14th street PATH station shut down, and there is no service. I saw bread on the widown and came to ask if there was any bread there. A short man with a mustache, much smaller than I came to tell me that they had, "no bread for me", and I politely asked why do they display bread that they don't have or sell. He told me that it was all ready all sold. If I wanted 3 day old display bread that I could take it. He had a mustache, short, maybe 5'3" , skinny with hair (brown) as long to his chin/neck, white, with a strong European accent. The waiter said sit down whwrever you'd like to, she had a strong Colombian accent down. I did that. I ordered a glass white Sauvignon Blanc, and another manager with blonde hair and blonde mustache told me that they had a policy that they didn't have to show me at all to serve. I'm a Union worker. I pay my bills. I don't ask anyone for anything at all. I eat, I drink and mind my business. I've never had to deal with this type of discrimination as a union, Hispanic, and paying worker at all. Ever. I wouldn't recommend this place to you. I did nothing. I just wanted to eat and pay for services. How dare these people are allowed to function, and do business..I wouldnt deny anyone that here in America, and possibly that happens in Europe, Italy, not here. Remember when you read this that you told me that I could call my attorney and that you didn't need to show me your policy. You treated me less than mediocre, a less than second citizen....
Read moreI manage a restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I was in the city and headed to a different restaurant, but as I was walking past Travelers Poets & Friends, something pulled me in. I hesitated for a minute, but I decided to go inâand Iâm so glad I did. My intuition told me to give it a chance.
The music, lighting, and overall vibe were just beautifulâexactly what I needed. I was greeted by Daniella with a warm smile and genuine kindness, and she seated me right away. I was there to treat myself and celebrate something personal, and she truly made a positive difference in my experience.
I ordered the Market Salad, Skirt Steak, Tiramisu, and Ice Cream. The salad was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The skirt steak was cooked perfectlyâhonestly, one of the best Iâve had in the city. The tiramisu was top-notch, and the ice cream was amazing. My only suggestion would be to serve the ice cream in a glass cup rather than a paper one.
Iâd also like to thank the assistant server and food runner. They were kind, polite, and attentive. The entire service team was outstandingâI never had to ask for anything.
And a special thank-you to the chef for the amazing plates. Every dish was prepared with care and intention, and it truly showed. The flavors, presentation, and balance were all spot on. You made the meal memorable.
I left extremely happy and will definitely be back. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you, Daniella and the service team for making my evening so special and for...
Read moreI promised my cousin some pasta the night before she ran the NYC Marathon but I accidentally made a reservation for the wrong day like an idiot. We walked around the corner and found this place and knowing it was a long shot on a Saturday night, asked the host if he could possibly seat 5 for dinner without a reservation. He looked at his reservations and kindly let us know he could give us a table if we would be able to finish by 8pm as they had a reservation at that time. That gave us an hour an 20 minutes so we jumped on it! Iâm so glad we did! Everything we ordered was delicious! For cocktails, I ordered the spirit bird. A tequila based cocktail with a beautiful presentation a little kick. For starters we had the charcuterie board with various meats and cheeses, the truffle arancini which were spectacular, a very tasty calamari and the kale salad. All were superb. For entrees, we had the Crispelle, butternut squash gnocchi, the parpadelle bolognese and the Mortadella pizza. The pasta was fresh and house made. Not a single bite was wasted. They even accommodated our 11 year old and made him a buttered pasta and chicken even though it wasnât on the menu. Everyone was full and happy but we made room for dessert. Best pistachio gelato Iâve ever had, and the tiramisu was amazing too. We were done at 7:57pm (as promised) but never once felt rushed. Iâm so glad my mistake brought us here because this will become a regular spot for...
