I am a dedicated member of the studio and have always enjoyed the unique atmosphere and positive energy that Modo Yoga NYC offers. However, I feel compelled to share my recent experience and express some concerns that have left me feeling disappointed.
In the past, one of the aspects I loved most about Modo Yoga NYC was the intense heat and the incorporation of humidity during classes. Unfortunately, I have noticed a recent change where the room is not kept as hot for as long, and the use of humidity seems to be minimal or nonexistent. This shift has impacted my overall experience and has left me feeling less satisfied with the classes.
I understand that changes are a part of any business, and I appreciate the effort to create a comfortable environment for everyone. However, the heat and humidity were elements that made Modo Yoga NYC stand out for me, providing a unique and invigorating experience. I believe that these factors contribute significantly to the overall benefits of hot yoga.
I want to emphasize that I love the studio, the instructors, and the community you have built. The positive aspects of Modo Yoga NYC are what have kept me coming back, and I hope my feedback can be taken constructively. I am sharing this review because I believe in the potential for improvement and the desire to maintain the high standards that have set Modo Yoga NYC apart.
I hope you consider revisiting the changes and finding a balance that ensures the comfort of all members while preserving the elements that make Modo Yoga NYC special. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to continued positive experiences at...
Read moreOk everyone in NYC you have to, HAVE to go to Modo yoga 6th Ave but also you have to experience a YIN class 90 min with Maria Valeroso. I went for the first time tonight just to see, I usually just do flow classes and my mind was blown. I’ve travelled to 5 continents and only ever met 3 people that have the gift Maria has when she makes her gentle hands on adjustments to students. There actually no words to describe it. There are people in the world that charge thousands of dollars to do a retreat with a being like Maria V. Please please TRUST ME and go to a YIN class with Maria. Or do a flow class and stay for the YIN with her after like I did. I don’t know if she is using acupressure, or alignment techniques for the subtle energy body or reiki or what exactly but I know that she is gifted. So please if you find yourself needing some healing be it from stress, jet lag, exercise, lack of sleep, tight muscles, a break up whatever JUST go to her YIN class. After the class I walked inside the locker and ALL of us were speaking about how special of a treasure she is. I cannot believe I waited this long to do a YIN class with her, for...
Read moreI used to love and attend modo for years despite the studio overselling classes, underventilating the rooms, and packing people on top of each other like sardines - sadly nothing has changed as I recently had an identical experience with the “manager” to that left by Shanise Omar two years ago, except I won’t be returning. Good luck modo, to crudely paraphrase what we learned in yoga teacher training.. karma’s a *
“Very sad to be leaving a review as this isn’t something I’ve ever done to any business and I truly have always loved this studio. I raced on a busy day down to my class and arrived 4 MINUTES before my class when the woman at the front desk so extremely rudely told me my PAID FOR spot had been “given away”. She then proceeded to so RUDELY demand that I “reread” their policy and then to “take a lap”. This is a yoga studio. A supposed place of peace and respect and I’ve never felt so upset and disrespected from any business. Again, it breaks my heart to leave this review as I’ve been coming to this studio for almost 10 years. Don’t come to the studio in the West Village unless you want to end up in a bad mood and...
