Tre Jolie Cafe lounge — Restaurant in New York

Come for the cheap ($5) drinks and hookah, but don’t expect much from the food or service. It would be best to mentally put it in the category of a dive bar. Simple things like fries and wings/tenders = good. Burgers = hit or miss. Mexican options = bad. They’re always missing some part of the stuff that’s supposed to go with the tacos but will still charge full price so just avoid ordering those items. I wouldn’t order anything with steak either as they use the cheap philly cheesesteak type of steak for their steak items.

On to service, it looks like they’re just hiring anybody and not training. Waited for a good 20 minutes before my order was taken. Restaurant was pretty much empty yet you would think they were super busy by the way I was treated. 18% gratuity is included automatically which in my opinion enables servers to become entitled and lazy since they know they’re getting a tip regardless so they don’t put in the effort that they normally would. The servers at tre jolie would rather chat and goof around with each other than to take care of their customers. They don’t look well put together either, very sloppily dressed, hair not pulled back. They need a uniform or something for them to wear bc dirty basketball shorts/leggings and tank tops with all the rolls and lumps hanging out is not cute and does not make me think they are clean and capable. One time when I came the server was wearing an actual lingerie top with her nipples showing smh and that would be one thing if she was in shape or something but it just looked very ghetto and sloppy.

This place has potential to be great, and is in a great location, they just need to hire better staff who understand how the service industry works and higher...

We went here after my cousin recommended this place, but after going we honestly don’t know why he did. Our waiter was immediately confused with our order despite everything being on the menu and needed to check to be sure they had ingredients for everything. My mom was then served an iced latte with milk so far past sour that it was literally curdled with bits of curdled milk floating in the drink. Our food all came out at vastly different times - her omelette was just ok, while my avocado toast was $16 for white bread (not sourdough as is on the menu), barely any avocado, and overcooked eggs (an add on without which there would barely have been any food in the order). We then waited 20+ extra minutes for my boyfriends order, also avocado toast, which wasn’t even started until after our food had come. When we tried to forego his order after waiting so long, they insisted we wait and pay for it. His order was even worse than mine, with his bread not even toasted barely at all (picture below). They did nothing really to help make the situations better. I would absolutely never come back here and encourage others to think twice about the quality of food you’re ordering. And to smell your milk before...

I really wanted to leave zero stars but Google wouldn’t allow me. Let me start off by saying that I was looking forward to visiting a nice family friendly restaurant in my new neighborhood. I arrived at the restaurant at 1pm on a Sunday afternoon expecting to have lunch with my 9 year old son. Only to be greeted at the hall gate by a very dismissive employee I assume so proceeded to inform me that they were off to a “late start” and were still setting up. Ok odd that a place known for brunch would be off the a late start on a Sun but ok. I actually was not bothered until I realized he expected me to stand on the sidewalk in 90 degree weather for 10+ mins to wait to spend my hard earned money. He never offered me a seat to cool off or a glass of water while we waited. Nothing, continued to ignored myself and my son for several mins as we baked in the sun to wait. Luckily, I spotted a lovely restaurant down the street and happily took myself, my son and my hard earned money and had the best time! Poor business practices will always be a downfall to any establishment and this was a prime example of that to me. Never going there again and never recommending this...
