Eloping is Fun captured our attention for multiple reasons. First, we liked the various packages that we could choose from that would allow us the ability to design our wedding experience as desired. Second, we liked that they had a quirky & fun vibe to how they conduct business. Lastly, the reviews were fantastic and allowed us to really get a feel for how our day would go. We were able to talk to Jenny early in the process by phone to get a more personal feel for Eloping is Fun and their services and to explain our vision of the day. These things allowed us to not only be comfortable with the decision to get married in New York City even though we live in Texas, but comfortable in our decision to choose Eloping is Fun.
We chose to go with Jonica for our photographer, Joel as our officiant, the vintage taxicab, and the musician to play at our ceremony. We were not disappointed with our decision as everyone was so friendly and motivated to create such a great & lovely experience for us. Our wedding was less of an elopement and more of a micro wedding as we had thirty-five guests.
Throughout the process we continuously would receive emails on next steps and various questionnaires for the company to get to know us better. So, the day of our wedding in early October, it was supposed to be cloudy but no rain. We had been nervous as the days leading up to the wedding day it had rained on and off throughout each day. The original plan was to do our first look at Central Park, before proceeding to Brooklyn to take additional pics before our ceremony in Dumbo Park. Mother nature had something else in mind as it began to rain around 2pm just 30 minutes before our first look. Though a little wet, we were able to get amazing pics at Central Park. Due to the continuous rain that became heavier, we had a change of plans and had Peter take us to Grand Central Station in the vintage cab. Though not in our original plans the dĂŠcor and backdrop of Grand Central Station turned out as a great idea. Jonica was fantastic toughing through the wet weather along with us, but her positivity, and outgoing personality never wavered. She kept the mood lighthearted & fun throughout the day.
Because of the rain and wind, the ceremony location changed with our wedding reception venue allowing us to hold our wedding ceremony there along with the other events already planned. Jonica coordinated this with Joel, Jenny, & Peter which turned out a success. We highly recommend going with the vintage cab. Peter & Jonica worked well together, and the cab turned out to be a fantastic addition for the day. We still took pics at Dumbo Park before the ceremony and Jonica let no time go to waste as she took several pics as we sat in the back of the cab as we made our way over to Brooklyn. She even endured the rain while we were in the warm cab as she took pictures from outside the cab through the back window.
Once at the reception venue we met Joel who had received a questionnaire from the each of us the week prior that would be used to create the opening remarks. Joelâs words were beautifully written and really captured our love for each other and detailed our relationship over the years. He had a nice balance of seriousness with the jokes that not only made us but our guest laugh. He brought life and character to our written words. Just like that we said goodbye to Joel but had Jonica for the rest of the night. She constantly checked up on us giving us ideas for pics but also asking what angles we wanted or who we wanted to take pics with.
Though we had to modify our plans, we enjoyed our wedding day in part due to the professionalism, work ethic, & dedication of Jonica, Peter, & Joel. We are happy with the decision we made and see why so many people choose to use Eloping is Fun. We cannot thank the Eloping is Fun team enough. If you want a ceremony that is fun and with minimal stress, we recommend that you reach out to them. We recently received all our pics and wow they are amazing. Jonica did a fantastic...
Read moreIt is truly impossible to articulate how wonderful and unbelievable the Eloping is Fun Crew is in helping you create the elopement of your dreams--they are a collective of ABSOLUTE VISIONARIES AND MANIFESTERS! My now-husband Joe and I reached out to Eloping is Fun when we were trying to organize an intimate and affordable, but logistically-functional wedding ceremony in the midst of the COVID crisis.
2020 was supposed to be the year for us to set everything in motion towards marriage, but we felt stuck in trying to plan something that would capture everything that we wanted to achieve, especially with the global pandemic. With Eloping is Fun's comprehensive custom elopement packages and hands-on consultation/communication, our experience on our wedding day was beyond anything that we had ever conceptualized for ourselves.
At the end of our time with the Crew, the planning for our Lunar New Year 2021 elopement ceremony had culminated in a magical, vibrant whirlwind celebration that lasted the whole day, traipsing around New York City with a carefully coordinated itinerary and safe, social distancing protocols in place, along with the intimacy and romance we were hoping to capture. Our night ended in LITERAL FIREWORKS for the Year of the Ox! We continue to be blown away with the extra mile the Crew made in making our celebration the absolute best it could be.
We worked with the amazing Jonica and Jonathan for photography and videography, who were absolute rockstars in coordinating and capturing the ephemeral moments of our unforgettable day. Without their careful artistry, we would not have the incredible memories that filled our entire day. The kind Minister Matt officiated our ceremony, with a beautifully written narrative and special accordion performance of our favorite song in an unconventional artist loft in Brooklyn. Sweet Jenny planned our entire custom elopement itinerary from start to finish, with her inexhaustible energy and zest, encouraging my husband and I to dream bigger and better for ourselves while planning our event in the midst of COVID.
We are forever bursting at the seams with gratitude for Eloping Is Fun's service, professionalism, and personal investment in making our dream celebration of our love a reality. Since the very beginning in working with them, we felt so sure and secure in choosing them as our planners, that we also asked them if it would be possible for them to take our engagement photos a few weeks prior to our elopement day, to which Jonica graciously obliged. That said, anyone who would wish for a micro-wedding or elopement in New York with the intimacy and care they would hope for should hire Eloping Is Fun! We cannot recommend and thank them enough for giving us memories to look back on...

Eloping Is Fun is everything youâre hoping for and more. Jenny, the brilliant owner, and her extraordinary team made our entire experience truly magical from start to finish.
From our very first call, we knew we were in the best hands. Becca, our coordinator and all-around wedding fairy godmother, is a total rockstar. She didnât just plan our wedding day â she created a full-on experience. From perfectly orchestrating our 7-hour tour of NYC to helping us plan the ideal pre-wedding events, she made every moment sparkle.
Before the big day, Becca helped us organize a fabulous dinner and tickets to Drag! The Musical â the perfect Off-Broadway show that was so us, it felt like she plucked it straight from our brains. Her recommendations for the rest of our trip were equally spot-on â fun, unique, and full of heart.
On the big day, we adventured through NYC like VIPs: Central Park, Top of the Rock, the majestic New York Public Library, the historic Stonewall Inn, and a sweet stop at Posh Pop Bakeshop for gluten-free treats that were to die for! And as huge animal lovers, our hearts were so full when we made a stop at Animal Haven, a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter â such a special and meaningful moment. Becca made sure it all happened seamlessly, joyfully, and beautifully.
Our dream team included:
Jonica, our photographer, who captured every look, laugh, and loving glance with such talent and artistry that looking at the photos feels like reliving the best day of our lives. Shane, our videographer, who created a cinematic, emotional, and totally epic video that weâll treasure forever. Rev. Love, our incredible officiant, who saw us for who we are and wrote a ceremony that was heartfelt, hilarious, personal, and perfect. We cried, we laughed, we swooned â it was everything. Finally, our ceremony at the stunning Lofts at Prince was the most beautiful ending to an extraordinary day. Every moment was full of love, meaning, and FUN.
I could write a novel about how amazing this experience was, but Iâll sum it up like this: Eloping Is Fun doesnât just plan weddings â they create once-in-a-lifetime memories. If you're eloping in NYC, donât walk â run to book them. Thank you Jenny, Becca, Jonica, Shane, and Rev. Love â you gave us the best day of our lives, and weâll never...
