Tropical Sensation — Restaurant in New York

This establishment is incredibly poor at protecting customer information for those individuals that order online. My family was contacted by a patron via text with pictures of a family members information that was plastered all over the bathroom. We don’t know how long it was up there, it appeared to be an order from 2020. Data breaches occurs often when utilizing internet but this was not the case. This is a human, using no form of common sense and pretty much risking customer identity and safety (it included a physical address, phone number and access to building information on the receipt) I’ve provided the images with sensitive info cropped out of the picture but I have provided it in the way it was received via the Good Samaritan. Worrying about not taking responsibility for stolen property but giving customer info for free. As a long standing resident of the neighborhood, well before Tropical Sensation even opened its doors, it’s infuriating. We’ve supported this establishment for many years and to have our info mishandled is unacceptable. Who knows how many other customers info has been displayed this way? Order online from this establishment at your own risk with this knowledge. This was incredibly disappointing, especially to longstanding...

Really, pretty bad service. I walked in to no greeting, and had to walk to a waitress after 2-3 minutes of waiting to ask for a table. I started with the chicken noodle soup, and with the first bite I was very surprised. The soup tasted amazing and the chicken was perfectly tender, but while getting further in I ran into about 20 small bones that were a huge turn-off... the next dish I got, , was just awful. The shrimp was very tough and not that great, although I did finish the 8 pieces I got on the $20 dollar plate. In the middle of the plate was this giant mass of some kind of thick and starchy. It was absolutely bland and was way to dense to chew and swallow, after the fist bite I was extremely close to spitting it out, as it was way to dense to swallow. It was like the forced as much of the stuff into a pint container and flipped it onto the plate. Very disappointing experience. Also as of right now I have been waiting for my ticket for 10 minutes as my waiter is talking and laughing with her co-workers... I will not...

What a delightful and cozy restaurant!!! ✨✨The staff makes your eating experience so welcoming. The spices melt in my mouth, and my taste buds are leaping on delight. I'm so thankfully stuffed that I'm upset I can't eat all my food!! I love how the food is top quality at an affordable price. As a New Yorker that's refreshing, since this is one of the most expensive cities in the country to live in. The struggle is real but God is bigger. This dish was the stew goat + sweet plantain with French fries at the side. This is my second time here, and I cannot wait to come back. Great food with even greater people. I pray they continue to be blessed, and even more prosperous than they already have been. The passionate servants heart is poured into the ambiance and every single dish served. I highly recommend this...
