The massage was good... although she ran out of time and did a lousy job with completing the front thighs and leg massage ( I requested a full body), and the front lady managed to run my mood within the span of 1 minutes with her forced tip amount. I had a $20 in hand with the intention to tip only $5( another issue with the tipping culture which has corrupted the service industry). Personally, tipping $20 on top of an already charged $65 for a 60 mins massage, added with a $5 tax was a bit excessive. I figured, $5 is a fair tip to what would be considered my extra appreciation for the paid massage... I handed the lady my $20 and asked for $15 in return, she commented “ she didn’t do a good job?” I replied “she did, and I am giving her a courtesy $5 as tip”. She replied “ why not give her $20?”... ??!! Seriously? I thought. Since when is requesting an exaggerated tip amount from a client a thing? I handed the $20, while waiting for my $15 in change, she gave me a set of $10. Being as relentless as I am because I do not tolerate such mentality, I requested again for an exact change of $15, so I can tip the lady who massaged me $5. She then flushed out a stack of $1 bills, perhaps in hope I would be turned off by the multiple $1, I told her that was alright, and I walked out with my $15 in change. I am typically an over-tipper if the service matches / surpasses my expectations and I have had deep tissue massages across continents, by people ( need not to say the ethnicity as you would guess), who where humble and recognized that tipping was to be at the client’s discretion, and when given, it was received in gratitude and not as a demand. I was disappointed and discouraged from returning to this establishment. If you plan on going, keep in mind to bring cash as they prefer it best, to avoid paying more taxes, or you will be changed the tax( close to 7%)— and have the exact amount you’d like to tip in cash or you may experience some resistance when asking for change. Tipping is not an entitlement, rather a token to be given and received in appreciation, not a...
Read moreI came for a massage on my birthday July 15th and had a bad experience. Now I’ve been to this massage spa a few times so I knew where I was going and what I was gonna get. I called in advance for an appoinment and got there at the time the women said I could come which was 2:30. I get there and the guy at the desk is telling me I don’t have a appoinment. but said that they would take me anyway (even though I did make an appointment). My massage started and it was not plesent. The lady who massaged me rubbed my right led for literally 25 whole minutes to the pout I had to ask her to please move on to something else because it seemed like she didn’t really wanna massage me. Most massages I get there have been pleasant and focused mostly on my back and shoulders. This women decided to rub my leg for most of my time and it was not cohesive and it wasn’t even the same amount of time on both sides. I got up feeling soar and not relaxed. Then I went to pay and paid on a card and tipped in cash because I’m a server so I want them to get the tip. And the guy who rudely said I didn’t have an appointment the first time. Asked me to tip on my card because “we prefer you tip 20 percent” I laughed because they didn’t even give 20 percent service. definitely will not be back the service...
Read moreI visit Long Teng II every time I'm in the city. As a massage enthusiast, I can honestly say Long Teng II offers the absolute best in service, quality and price.
Maggie was my therapist yesterday and she was wonderful! Not only did she provide a great massage experience, she checked in with me from time to time to make sure everything was as I had expected. She even tied my hair back so that oil in my hair was not an issue. Her love and dedication to creating an amazing customer experience was front and center - thank you, Maggie!
Now for price and gratuity. I paid $75 for a 90-minute full body massage. For this service I received all the best that Maggie had to offer PLUS warm oil, hot stones and heated towels (which doubled to help remove oil before getting dressed)! I always err on the side of tipping more than less. These ladies deserve it!
What you will not get for this price is complete privacy, as the private massage rooms are close together. That said, I have gone to private massage studios and heard more noise than I heard during my massage at Long Teng II. It's clear they are intentional about keeping the area quiet and ensuring everyone has a positive experience. Thank you and...
