I really enjoyed my meal here last week. I go out to eat 4-5 times a week and my two favorite cuisines are Italian and American (steak). This is a great combination of the 2, as the menu is split with one side "Italian Menu" and the other side "Steakhouse Menu." Luckily, I was here with 4 other people and we were able to try an assortment of dishes from both sides. We had calamari, mushroom salad with gorgonzola, shrimp scampi, and spinach ravioli to start. For mains, we all spilt, a porterhouse for 3, tuna, veal scaloppini, and the chicken, with broccoli rabe, spinach and mashed potatoes as sides. Everything we ate was really well prepared, but I will say my favorites were the spinach ravioli, the calamari, and the tuna. The consensus at the table was to have the steak medium rare, and whereas I know it's sacrilege, I prefer my steak a little more towards the medium end of things. That being said, it was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and did have an excellent aged flavor. For those who love the taste of blood, this steak was for you. Everyone at the table was overly stuffed, and beyond satisfied after the main courses, but it's nearly impossible for me to go somewhere and not try dessert. We had homemade tiramisu, panna cotta, ricotta cheesecake, and a selection of gelati and sorbet. The cheesecake and the panna cotta were very good, but the tiramisu stole the show. It was composed enough to be able to eat it with a fork, but so creamy and delicious. The entire party had a lovely time and great food. I'm looking forward to trying other Nino owned...
Read moreFood poisoning! My husband and I planned a day trip to NYC for diner and a show We had an appetizer of clams and Calamari and the entree was a porter house for 2 My husband didn't eat the clams he ate the calamari I ate the clams. We asked for steak medium. It came out rare as can be we didn't complain as we were trying to enjoy our night out for my birthday. We left to go to the show and about 2 hours later I felt stabbing pains in my stomach. So we left the show and headed home. When I got home I was in so much pain. Then the vomiting began I vomited over 60 times in 24 hours. The next day I went to the doctors and it was confirmed I had food poisoning, most likely from the clams as my husband didn't get sick. I was out of work for 3 days! Missed my birthday with kids and family. I let the restaurant know the situation and there response was we hope we don't loose you as a customer. I have never been so sick and still have stomach issues 6 days later. I'm so disgusted my holidays and birthday are a mess because they unfortunately served contaminated food I wasn't going to write a review but I'm just so upset that they had no remorse .that I had lost work and money and was so sick. Beware a...
Read moreVery classic and traditional upscale steakhouse. Came on a Monday afternoon in May for lunch, which the steakhouse was very quiet during the time I was here, around noon, just me and a few other tables. Expectations for this steakhouse was this was going to be considered one of the top-notch steakhouses in NYC, and it didn't disappoint. Service is top-notch, as well as the food. Ordered the bone-in ribeye steak and the hashed browns. The ribeye was dry-aged and cutting into the steak, it was cooked to the perfect medium that I ordered. The steak was very nice, well done on the crust/outer layer, tasting some of the dry-age funk, juicy and flavorful. Excellent steak. Their steak sauce was excellent too, pairing well with the ribeye. Going onto the hashed browns, which was recommended by the waiters, it was just fine, not your average steakhouse potatoes side. They were basically diced potatoes, cooked and charred. There was a TON OF oil, drenching the bottom of the plate. Final verdict for the hashed browns, just ok, but too much oil, fat for my liking and lacking some flavor. But overall verdict, great but overpriced. My bill turned out to be almost $100 for one person with the steak and...
