If you’re in NYC and haven’t tried Unglo Thai BBQ yet... you’re seriously missing out. I came here not knowing what to expect, but wow — I was blown away. I ordered the Beef Set ($88) and honestly, I was worried it wouldn't be enough food… but I was so wrong. It’s super worth it — totally exceeded my expectations. You get three types of beef, and the quality? Next level. The meat was aromatic, tender but still had that perfect chew — exactly how I like it. It came with a variety of fresh veggies and the garlic fried rice was incredible — packed with flavor and smelled amazing from the crispy garlic oil. I went with Wagyu + Dry-Aged beef, and OMG. I’m not exaggerating — this is Michelin-level quality.
To finish it all off, they serve a frozen yogurt dessert that was super refreshing, perfect for cleansing the palate. But I couldn’t resist ordering their Thai Tea Bingsu too… and let me just say — I’m obsessed. It was creamy, slightly sweet, super satisfying, and the salty-rich cream on top? Chef’s kiss. I wanted to order another one but I was honestly so full from the beef set — they give you a lot.
And can we talk about the service? Everyone was so sweet and helpful. Super friendly staff that made the experience even better. I’m already planning to bring my friends next time. This place is a gem — you have to try it at...
Read moreWe had such an amazing dining experience at Unglo. Everything from decor, service and food was 5 stars. Our server was very friendly and explained the process/menu well. We Went for a special occasion as it can get expensive but so worth it. We got the beef and chicken tasting menu and upgraded to the wagyu experience. The broth was so clean tasting-no taste of any fat. The chicken and beef were so tasty with just being mixed with an egg. Their signature dipping sauce complimented the meats perfectly. The wagyu cooker rare then topped with cavier was a total mouth explosion. It truly melted in your mouth. You can taste the amazing quality of meat as it was not overpowered by any sauces or marinates. We ate the wagyu with just a pinch of salt/pepper. It was an amazing experience to cook the food in front of you. Also unlike Korean BBQ we did not come out smelling like dinner. My picky children enjoyed the calamari and chicken wings. The garlic fried rice also perfectly balanced out the bbq meats. The cocktails were also on point and named after cuts of meat. The Lady Eye Round was a perfect cocktail for dinner while my husband enjoyed a Mr. Frank. Dinner ended with Gelato for kids and a thai iced tea shaved ice. There is also a private pay lot across the street....
Read moreWe have been so excited for the opening of Unglo - living across the street we have been watching this restaurant being built out. Having lived 3 1/2 years in Thailand we were giddy to have a Thai place across the street.
We reserved on opening night and we were not disappointed. Moo Krata is a Thai BBQ + Hot Pot and it’s full of deliciousness. This is an elevated version you would find in Thailand.
Tonight we both took the Noir Set - Beef with Scallops and Pork with Beef Wagyu. This also included a platter of veggies, garlic rice and broth and we ordered a side of noodles and started with chicken wings. Khun Dragon was attentive and helpful when we needed him.
Everything tasted spectacular and so so much food. We definitely didn’t need the chicken wings or noodles but they also were great. Do not skip the sauces, they are a bit spicy ( but not thai spicy iykyk) and absolutely spectacular in flavor. For dessert they bring you gelato!
Cocktails are also inventive and great tasting.
This is a spectacular addition to the neighborhood and I am sure this place in short order will be hard to grab a reservation so book soon.
Welcome to the neighborhood Unglo. We look forward to coming back again very...
