This is one of the restaurants that my husband and I love to frequent. As such, we have been here on a number of occasions. The food is consistently amazing and very rarely anything less than appearing to be near just picked fresh.
There are a lot of vegetable options which almost always include ones that anyone would be happy with. There are a number of fish balls, tofu, and other toppings, as well as noodles- both premade and freshly made.
I believe they've had eggs each time I've gone (be aware that for this style of food the eggs will be in shell and raw, meant to be cooked in the broth), there is always rice, as well as an extensive sauce bar which has the normally found sauces and seasonings as well as some house made ones. I personally enjoy mixing the sauces and seasonings to make my own variation, but in the end they work well to amp up the already delicious broth to match your personal taste.
Speaking of broth, I prefer to mix the mushroom and pork broth, but each of their choices are good. If I recall correctly, there are 4 choices. They have both mild and spicy options, based on the flavor you choose.
While the base cost for the buffet doesn't include the meats and seafoods that are offered (also quite good if you want to pay the extra cost, which we do from time to time), if you are on a budget, fear not. There is a LOT offered in the basic buffet that you generally end up leaving stuffed with just that.
To top it off, there are server your own ice creams available for dessert, which are included in the buffet cost. One machine has green tea and vanilla with the option of one or the other or twist. Last time we went in they had added a Dole pineapple... freeze? I don't recall the exact name, but it is a dairy free option that tastes quite good, if also quite sweet.
In regards to the staff, they are happy to be helpful, if a bit scarce on occasion... which actually works for us, since we prefer to not be hovered over while we eat. They do generally make quite frequent rounds and tend to be available for drink refills before your cups run dry, and they are easy to find if you do end up needing them between their rounds for any reason. A very delicate and balanced...
Read moreI had an awesome time here! I went with my brother, cousin and friend skeptical because I wasn’t a fan of hot pot to begin with let alone the area it sit in. Once I went inside my doubts started disappearing one by one. Some days are busier than others but honestly today it was surprising how much room there was and how quiet the place was given it was such a big restaurant with quite a number of cooks and waiters. We waited 5 mins in the front before we sat down and heard what was available today. Before I forget: weekdays 11-3 PM is $20 for the buffet while all other times it’s $23.95. If you look at the menu you will see the options that are available at purchase such as: Meat options exclusive from the buffet option (only thing free is the amount of fish items you can get at the buffet line) chicken, beef, pork, seafood platter, etc. Drinks is its own menu on the back and they have plenty of options for alcohol if you’re into all that. I’m not so i just moved forward to the soft drinks which they have about 10 different options and yes refills are indefinite and free for $3.50 I believe. What hot pot is basically a large bowl of soup depending on the 10 choices available on the menu to you ( I went with kimchi) is cooked on the countertop stove that you can operate on your own with 1 dial that goes from P1 (lowest) - P5 (Highest). You choose whatever you want to take from the buffet line which there are mostly vegetable and noodle items but about 3 sections or 6 rows back to back full of it. Bring it back to your table and throw it in the soup at your own pace whenever you want. I suggest getting the minimum amount to max out your options so you don’t overfill too fast and end up wasting a plateful of food like me. They won’t charge you extra if it’s not too much which they didn’t for me thank god considering my bill was about $30 plus tip so $35. Tip isn’t mandatory but it is common courtesy and manners. There is also an ice cream bar with matcha vanilla and pineapple as the only options but all you can eat included. Honestly it was a really good place to go to and I recommend it for anyone looking to eat seafood in...
Read moreSo I’ve tried many many ACE buffets and this by far surpassed my expectations. Upon entering, I was greeted by a lovely group of employees very welcoming. They showed my party to the table which led to a semi private room and I asked if this was a sit down with other people type and sharing a soup pot and they assured me and my party no, it’s individual pots and that gave me some relief. Once seated, we were presented with a QR code with brought up the menu. A gentleman named Daniel came to the table as soon as the seating personnel left and explained the ins and outs of the whole process. My partner was a bit intimidated by the whole thing but rest assured he explained it thoroughly enough that they could be able to do it. Once we ordered our soup bases, he explained that we can go ahead to the buffet line and pick out the things we want. Let me tell you! There are so many fresh vegetables and noodles! This was very exciting as my partner is vegetarian so it’s a great place for them. Daniel and his coworker Paul assisted us, cleaned off things we didn’t need and made the process less challenging. Overall, we had a great experience, I did order proteins through the middle cause that’s the only thing that was not on the buffet line but Daniel did explain to us if we changed our minds that we can order anytime. I would definitely recommend going there to have your first experience. Definitely recommend Daniel as he is really friendly, handsome, a singer and would make your first time a great experience through this different...
