I took my family to eat at this restaurant on Saturday after visiting The Museum of Natural History and this was the worst decision I ever made. We were sat way in the back and it was a nice seating. We looked at the menu and it looked great , we were very excited. Our server came over (a male, I believe to be Russian) and was not friendly at all. We asked him a few things about certain items and he seemed to not be interested in explaining it to us. A few minutes passed by and we had to wave at him to tell him we were ready. My sister built her own pizza and when her pizza came it was all the wrong ingredients and he didn’t even apologize. When the food came they brought something to the table that looked like garlic bites although we did not order this I thought it was for the table so I suggested we dig in! The runner that brought our food then came rushing in after about 5 minutes and grabbed them off the table even though we had already started eating it!! My daughter ordered 2 mini CHEESEBURGERS and they came with no cheese besides that the burger was a bit rare even though we asked for well done! About 15 minutes after she was already eating our server came back when I told him the burgers did not have cheese he chuckled and walked away, this is after I had to personally take the plate myself to the front of the restaurant to have cheese put on it because he was nowhere to be found! At the end of it all our bill comes and there is a 20% gratuity already added to the bill and no thank you when the check was dropped!! This is so appalling and unacceptable! I am a Manager at a NYC restaurant and I was shocked at this service! The manager was kind enough to remove the item off of our bill and apologized for the gratuity being added because it usually is not! I pride myself on customer service and this was unbelievable. That employee needs a reality check. Tips are earned and a reward and not an obligation especially if your service was just plain BAD!! Stay away if you’re looking for good service with your family. I wouldn’t...
Read moreDisgusted and so very disappointed with todays experience and service. 2nd time coming here, Walked in ask the Male Employee with a mustache and not too tall for a seating booth please, he explained to me they were only for 6 people, The last time I visited I was seated on the booth seat with only 3 people, i then said I’m happy to wait for one, he then rolled his eyes as he looked bothered and replied” You can wait and he walked away with out letting us know how long should we wait or if we can have a seat anywhere in the restaurant to wait . He also continued to Stare at me Mad or annoyed while Chatting with another male employeed, Obviously complaining about Me just because I requested the seating booth! He was just so rude, Childish and Very poor customer service. So I ask the young Female host at the front of the restaurant if theres somewhere we can have a seat to wait and she pointed to the front. I Thanked her for being kind. Then once a booth became available she walked us over. As we sat down and waited, An older female Employeed (waitress ) posssibly Hispanic came by our table and SLAMMED the salt and pepper on our table aggressively she did not greet us nor acknowledge us then she came around 2nd time To bring plates to the table AGAIN No Acknowledge whatsoever! She was also Nasty and looked upset to be at work! At this point I felt so overwhelmed, uncomfortable and disgusted by the way We were treated, Not sure if everyone was having a bad day or management is not training their employees correctly but it was an uncomfortable experience and cold and Bad atmosphere. There was also No Air conditioner. I decided to just walk out this restaurant. Sadly we wasn’t able to enjoy a nice meal. Very poor customer service at this 432 Columbus Avenue location. As a Manager myself I would give these employees extra training to better serve their customers because nobody should be treated this way. One star was for the young female employeee in the front. 7/3/2022 Sunday...
Read moreWhat a shame, this place has gone totally downhill! Uno rep at entry desk, about 3pm on Sat 7-10-22, ignored me and little grandson, the rep was chatting on the phone that didn't sound like a call she received regarding placing an order, then another rep - Only asking a passing other staff member can he help me, after standing 7 minutes inside, this Pizzeria Uno rep said to me - "I didn't put my name on a list" - but there was no visible list on view nor sign at this Pizzeria Uno to place names on a list. Then this Uno's rep said there's a 30-minute wait despite were visibly six empty tables, which this rep then showed a list to add my name and there were only two names not already checked in!! Perhaps it's okay to do take out here. However this type of customer service and treatment is really poor. Take it from a person that has been involved over 40 years in management and customer care, I never write negative reviews but this was one of the worst ways to treat a customer, especially at a quiet time on a Saturday afternoon with only one other family waiting behind me - not in front of me. I hope upper management of Uno's reads this. This might be a franchise location, but what a terrible way to treat customers. I left after this poor treatment - went to nearby other pizzeria at 80th and Amsterdam, everything there was quick, staff treated us so well, no waiting, total respect than Pizzeria Uno failed to take care of. To have these dining options within a few blocks of The Museum and Natural History, and to have this poor treatment & situation at Pizzeria Uno at Columbus Avenue and 81st Street was really sad...
