If I can give this place a one star review I would. I pretty much payed $350 + tip, including other skincare products, and previous facial. I really wanted to give this place a chance, I love how its organic products although my skin did not react well at ALL. Iāve had tons of facials in the past elsewhere and Iāve never had this problem before but read on I will tell you about my experience. Iāve booked the,āLuxe Facial.ā I was excited to try this place again, Iāve went once before my skin reacted but I wanted to give this place one more chance. So I went in. I didnāt sign the waiver form because I was told Iāve been there a different time so I didnāt need to fill out a form again. I told the esthetician what she can recommend for my skin because it is SENSITIVE, and I cannot use coconut oil on my skin, so I went in the facial room and I was hoping she would not be using coconut oil on my skin, there were several oils being used on my skin, and I thought that she would not have used coconut oil since I stated to her that I cannot use that on my skin. A day later, I start to have MAJOR issues, acne, redness and Milia, dots on my forehead, left, right, sides of my forehead, I was clearly breaking out BAD, I was told itās called purging Iām aware of this but I wouldāve been perfectly happy to go elsewhere for a facial if I did not received this disappointing result. My skin is now itchy, broken out and I have called Savor beauty spoke to a woman and she said to email them. I sent an email along with photos for evidence from the reaction to my skin, can you believe I needed to send evidence when I would not be lying about how my skin turned out. I received an email back from one of the associates at Savor Beauty. Her name is, Judith. I found her email response to be completely dismissive, disappointing and thus I have made the decision to NEVER go back to any other Savor Beauty Locations. I like some of the skincare products but not enough to get a reaction on my skin again, Iām a skin nerd and I love getting facials on my skin and everything skin health related. My skin is not dry, so I do not need coconut oil as it is. Judith was being completely dismissive towards my concerns, photos donāt seem to matter, none of my concerns nor reaction to the facial was addressed and continued in upselling me their Chamomile face wash which interestingly enough but not surprising had COCONUT OIL, that was the whole point of the email and she ignored the fact that I had a reaction. WHY ON EARTH would I use more products that would give me EVEN WORSE and MORE reactions/breakouts? OMG. Talk about insane! And management is not doing anything. Lesson learned I will be WARY and more selective when it comes to facial spas. This is a 100% honest review and if interested whoever is reading I will send photos of my skin from the Luxe Facial. NO, THANKS. And there was no resolution whatsoever after the email regarding my concerns!!!! AVOID if you do not want a reaction on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSharon L. is by far the best esthetician at Savor Spa Upper West Side. I have been seeing her every four weeks since May 2018 to treat my acne-prone skin. She performs a facial with more precision and genuine care than anyone I have had at high-end day spas like Spa at the Mandarin or L.RAPHAEL Four Seasons. At those luxury venues you're paying more for the ambiance and amenities than the results. If you are looking to bring facials back into your life, you just have to make a choice: Do you want access to a sparkly steam room, free toothbrushes and combs and an endless supply of raw almonds and Conde Nast magazines? Or, do you want to see results? If you want results, I highly recommend Sharon L. During each visit, Sharon takes the time to learn about my concerns and briefly maps out the facial so that I know what to expect. And she knows exactly how to show my hormonal chin who's boss - gentle yet effective extractions, lots of high frequency to eliminate bacteria and a Korean-style lymphatic drainage massage. During the massage, it feels as if a mermaid is swooping, twirling and diving all over my face, neck and shoulders. Sharon's massage pressure is on point. Also keep in mind that, if you decide to commit to the "Champagne Facial Club," microdermabrasion is part of the facial treatment. But don't let this feature hold you back. I have the most sensitive skin on the planet - I can't even touch my face or scratch an itch without people asking me what happened and if I'm okay, lol - but the diamond tip is very light, and it feels like nothing more than a cat licking your face. Most importantly, I never come out of treatment with any redness or irritation. I just have to apply an SPF 30+ for the next week or so.
Savor Spa is an urban boutique spa, which means that you are going for the personalization and the results - not the extra amenities. In any case, it is a very relaxing and impeccable venue: There is a lovely restroom in the spa zone featuring their signature mint spa candle and an infinite supply of fresh pink hand towels. In the spa room itself, you will see giant white flower blossoms dotting the ceiling. When I close my eyes, I hear a bird flapping its wings but it's really just the petals jiggling in the air current. The spa soundtrack is a unique blend of ocean waves, classical piano and ethereal Asian...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have to say that after my first facial here I was on the fence about going back. Karla and I talked privately in the room during the facial so she knew I was not 100% happy, but I rebooked with her and tried again.
I continue to see Karla and so pleased that I stuck with her and this spa! I have seen Karla every 6 weeks since June, and my skin could not be happier! It has become healthier as I work on skin goals - in fact, today was the first time she was able to tell me my skin was not dehydrated, which she seldom sees so I was very proud of myself #skingoals
Have to listen to your aesthetician if you want to see long lasting results :) plus be really religious with your skin care routine :)
Also, the products Savor Spa uses are so luxurious on the skin. My skin reacts to a lot of things, but never once to any product here. Only for the better.
I leave every appointment feeling a sense of inner calmness, and my face feeling soft as silk.
I would not hesitate to recommend this location. And like myself, if something was just not what you expected, just talk privately with them. You will be surprised at how well you are heard as a client. That says a lot!
I do wish they had more options in the types the services they provide for a facial spa. Example - Hydrafacial. As a customer, within walking distance I really do not have a good location to get a HF in this area. I take my business elsewhere, instead of all in one at Savor Spa. That is why I took a took a star away.
Other than that, I love this location, and wish Karla was there more...
