VEX El Cafe — Restaurant in New York

Prices are about what's expected from a place like this - that is, way more expensive than the bakery down the street that can deliver nearly the same quality.

Coffee is weak but doesn't taste bad - probably ok for a recovering caffeine addict on their cheat day.

I had a carrot muffin which was quite delicious but also bite-sized and something like $3 (too expensive for a tiny muffin).

Came in today with my daughter. We were walking by and she saw their adorable little Chalk board sidewalk sign displaying they had cold Horchata on this hot 90+ degree summer day. We walked in and were greeted immediately with the most welcoming hello we could possible have gotten from the sweetest woman behind the counter (after conversing with her for a few minutes while she attentively made our drink with love, I assume she was the owner) Our drink was made with precise care and love, the establishment was clean and the service was above and beyond great! highly recommend this...

The atmosphere was relaxing, and everything appeared clean. I think the decor and nautical style was interesting. I ordered a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and pumpkin butter and a large coffee, but I do think they were a little over priced for what I received. The coffee was good but maybe not worth $3.75, and the bagel was pretty simple and soft (although the toppings were good). Overall I'd recommend trying it if you want to just chill somewhere with a book or a friend, but if you're just coming to grab breakfast and run out the door you might be a little...
