To celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th birthday, we ventured into the bustling city of New York to watch the MJ play, followed by a dinner reservation at Via Toscana located at 344 W 52nd St, New York, NY 10019. Nestled in the heart of the Theater District, Midtown West, and Hell's Kitchen, this restaurant proved to be an excellent choice for our special occasion. As we entered, we were warmly welcomed by the chef and owner, Andrea Della Pina, who personally greeted all 17 of us. Right from the start, Andrea and his attentive staff made us feel like an extended part of their family. It was a delightful beginning to our dining experience. The drinks and appetizers were an absolute delight, leaving us eager for what was to come. With such a large group, we ordered a variety of dishes, and each one surpassed our expectations. The flavors were simply divine, leaving every single person at our table raving about the mouthwatering taste. What made it even more satisfying was that the meals were reasonably priced, offering excellent value for our money. The impeccable service and the delectable food truly impressed us, making Via Toscana a restaurant we wholeheartedly recommend. It provided us with an amazing dining experience that added to the joyous celebration of our loved one's milestone birthday. Whether you're seeking a place to gather with family or friends, or simply craving an exceptional meal, this remarkable restaurant is sure to leave a lasting impression.

The service was great until I realized how absurd the prices were compared to the food we received. The food quality was decent but the prices were downright disrespectful. It’s NYC so you know you’re going to pay inflated prices but the wings at this place took the prize - 4/FOUR small chicken wing ‘pieces’ for $17… thats $4.25 per wingette… putting the pieces together it was less than two actual wings for $17. I’ve never been so offended by a price in my life. The flavor was good but not worth $4.25 per wingette good. I would never go back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who wanted to get value for their hard earned money. For the record, I am not cheap - I am a foodie willing to pay top dollar when needed.

Via Toscana Italian Restaurant Review

Nestled in the heart of the city, Via Toscana Italian Restaurant offers a delightful escape into the rich and flavorful world of Italian cuisine. From the moment you step through the door, you are greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

Ambiance: The ambiance at Via Toscana is nothing short of beautiful. The decor effortlessly combines rustic Italian charm with modern elegance, creating a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. Soft, ambient lighting and tasteful artwork transport you to a quaint Italian village, making it the perfect setting for both intimate dinners and lively gatherings with friends and family.

Food: The true star of Via Toscana is undoubtedly its cuisine. The menu boasts a wide array of dishes, but the homemade pasta is an absolute must-try. Each pasta dish is crafted with care, using traditional techniques and the freshest ingredients. The texture and flavor of the pasta are simply divine, making it a standout feature of the restaurant.

One dish that deserves special mention is the Chicken Parmesan. This classic Italian favorite is elevated to new heights at Via Toscana. The chicken is perfectly tender, coated in a golden, crispy crust, and smothered in a rich, tangy tomato sauce with just the right amount of melted mozzarella. It's a harmonious blend of flavors that leaves you craving more with every bite.

I’m a New Yorker and a foodie. And I travel in order to try good food. This place is for sure a gem! We came before the restaurant openned for the evening but were seated! We ordered different pastas (one with mushrooms and creamy sauce and one with seafood and tomato sauce), polenta with meat appetizer, cesar salad, and desert. Everything was super yummy. I usually don’t like tomato based pasta, but that plate …. was soooo good, so fresh, and so flavorful. Portions are good, not tiny but not huge. Polenta was tender, not dry or greasy, and also very flavorful. Needless to say deserts were excellent. We ordered ricotta mousse with pear - delicious! And another one, i don’t remember the name, something with pistachios, it resembled nougat and warmed my taste buds :) Overall...
