Will DEFINITELY avoid coming here, their location is perfect you get out the train and its the only pizza place you can see, i was REALLY hungry and in a hurry when I went, its probably my second time here, and I'm always down to give a 1$ slice pizza place a slice, check YELP real quick since im scouting/ canvasing the area for new pizza places.
I go in, ok let me have 2 cheese and a pepperoni, i hand them a 5 dollar bill and wait, the teller starts doing something else, then i politely ask for my change and she says there is NONE, i ask how much are the pepperoni slices and she says $3, at this point i didnt have the energy to yell at all of them and storm out, i was in SHOCK THREE DOLLARS? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? I make a mental note to write about this in yelp........ sooooo annoyed already
then i go to the back with my hand written ticket, what is this? i dont want to touch this dirty piece of paper before im about to eat with my hands...
I then ask the guy that i dont want my pizza too hot theres some cold ones on the counter that i wouldnt mind heating up for a little since im trying to eat quickly not wait 10 minutes for a slice of super hot pizza to cool down, he says theres some hot pizza coming out like he's proud of it and i repeat myself i want a slice not too hot, he looks confused like NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE A NON VOLCANO BOILING HOT MELT YOUR FACE LAVA SLICE, this strikes me as a bit sadistic and i ask about the pepperoni which i knew had been sitting out, he says oh its already in the oven and i ask ok can i have it? since my mental timer says that its already too hot for me, so he then proceeds to take out the cheese pie that was cooking then try to convince me again about the hot pizza, i cant think clearly right now and just stand there in disbelief and shock that customers dont get to choose what they want after being overcharged and only say no, by this time my brain is still in shock and i cant argue with him about giving me the colder slices and heating them up for 30 seconds, i just want them lukewarm so he gives me the two slices from the other pie that he wasnt so happy about and THEN proceeds to take out the pepperoni slice by my calculations its been about 3 minutes in there since i had to wait for someone else to get their order before me, and by that time i already know im NEVER going there again so im just waiting for this bad experience to be over.
hey can i have some parmesan cheese? yeah you, the people who charged me THREE FULL AMERICAN DOLLARS FOR A PEPPERONI SLICE
oh guess what they dont have parmesan cheese because aparently thats too much to ask for at a pizza shop
at this point im thinking about all the other places i could have eaten with my $5 dollars or how many pizzas i could make from scratch with those $5 the pizza from little caesars i passed up in hopes i found some good pizza in my search for a good cheap slice uptown
while my mouth is being charbroiled i see a couple other customers with bad experiences not knowing what to do and similar cash transaction scenarios where the customers end up confused.
the pepperoni was less hot than the two apparently less hot cheese slices he advertised to me but still burning hot
and i repressed my anger, till now, that im hungry again for pizza and reminded of...
Read moreI have walked by this pizza place so much but never went inside. One of the best pizza places in this neighborhood is mama tinas and never thought u would find a better rival until now? Maybe.
First off coming into the business is somewhat awkward. Small stairs and steep with poor lighting. Once inside its very small but clean. I couldn't figure out where to order since making eye contact to place my order was hard due to the pizza behind the glass being in your face. They need a open area in the front so you can place your order.
Customer service is lacking. I wanted to ask a question before placing my order and the lady who works here only answered my question before walking away and not take my order. I stood there wondering where can I place my order then and walked to the next person behind the counter available. He seemed to be the one making the pizza so I simply asked him to give me a slice to go and seemed nice about it. He asked if that was it and I said yes for now. I can already see I will eventually have to speak up about the lacking service of this location with this young rude lady. Seemed very indifferent and inpatient about attending to women. When my husband went in he said she was very attentive to his ordering needs and had no complaints. Once i got home I remembered why I had not bothered to ever order from this location and it was due to some negative reviews of this location lacking customer service with this lady. I had not remembered but will continue to come because the pizza was great.
The pizza on the other hand was one of the best i had due to the crust. Sadly mine got cold looking for parking but I enjoyed mine. It had thin crust and just the right amount of sauce and cheese. If you ever had La Familiga pizza its like that but less greasy.
Final thoughts Even though the pizza makes it worth returning I will be avoiding this lady and exploring more their menu. I find it important to stay polite or avoid toxic people to prevent a scene or a confrontation. If I find myself having to deal with her which i know i will hope she can remain respectful enough to at least let me place my orders in peace because I'm patient but not with disrespect. I do speak up and let people know I give what I expect back in return.
I also recommend checking your orders before leaving the restaurant. They forgot my husband's request to not put blue cheese with his buffalo wings and it spilled all over his wings....
Read moreHonestly, this place is a hit or miss. I've been ordering from here for 4 yrs...and I will be honest. I'm not basing this review off of 1 order or 3 orders. This is from many of orders within a 4 year period. Hit or Miss. There are times when the order is exactly what you want and paid for...they seriously charge for any little extra. And there are times the order is not right. Which is frustrating, because you paid for all the extras and you just need and want to eat. Sometimes the food is great and sometimes it's not. 2 weeks ago you ordered an amazing delicious dish...now it's smaller in size, they skimped on the ingredients, and it doesn't taste that good. I paid for extra sauce...not only did I not get extra sauce on the pizza, but it doesn't look like they put any on it. The last time it was spot on delicious. Now, this time I got to go to the grocery store and get some marinara or pizza sauce. They can be really good or Not so good. I guess it depends on who's...
