Cashier gal with glasses and baseball cap and other tall server gal as well as barista have attitudes. I had just politely asked whether my drink was coming up and was scolded with, "It's coming in order of the receipts lined up here on the bar-- A LITTLE BIT OF PATIENCE ALWAYS HELPS PLEEEZE" in quite a peeved manner. I looked at the receipts just to see where I was in the line to see whether I should wait outside given there were many people crowded by the bar. The Barista notices and says, "Your order is next, okay?? I'm getting to it RIGHT now." There must be some chip-on-the-shoulder vibe dominating the place. The friendliness is so artificial and arbitrary. "You pay fast and go away I will be nice. You ask me something or for something, or hesitate in your order, I will change my tone of voice, wear an annoyed expression on my face until you leave." This is the vibe in Manhattanville Coffee. Guests are your usual considerate guests---no problems there. But it is definitely not a place where servers are properly trained in the art of positive, cheerful, and most importantly,...

12:56 on 2/27. My espresso shots were great. But if the young lady on bar currently, worked for me… and I own 4 cafes, Travel the world going to coffee shops, and if she was worked for me…. She would be without a job. Because it would appear that we are in fact bothering her by ordering coffee, the very thing that she is paid to be the The shop for.

Any barista who can’t manage a simple “you’re welcome” or any words at all…. Should probably find another career. I said hello. Silence. I said “hey could I get some more ice cubes?” Silence. I said “thanks so much!” Silence. Unless she is unable to speak due to a physical impairment, her attitude is nasty and she probably should have called out today. I only discovered that she could speak because someone else left for the day and she said goodbye. I’m unsure of why I wasn’t worthy of a simple greeting.

I wish I could take my tip back. I was tempted to ask the person on the cash register to refund me and I...

TERRIBLE customer service experience. I spent a few bucks on some light snacks - about $20. My latte was being prepared & so I sat down because my hip was bothering me. I'd been in a car accident & I walk with a cane. Once the drink had been made the employee shouted out to me to come get my drink as it's ready. I'd replied, can someone bring it to me. Not only did the individual who asked ignore me but another employee shouted, No, we will not bring it to you ... then left out the door. This staff of four was disgustingly rude with their FAKE smiles/greeting upon entry. If asking for assistance is beyond the level of customer service then this place sucks. It wasn't an unreasonable request. Please re-train your staff on courtesy or place signs in your store which communicate that this small "boutiquish" café does NOT accommodate any requests made by any customer whether they have a...

Great little coffee shop that is always busy yet always manages to have spots available for a quick sit down session. Always a mix of yuppie, hipster, and older crowd, mainly reading, co-working, or chatting in pairs, no groups or larger gatherings. Pricing is reasonable and they offer free water without trying to push overpriced plastic bottles. There are snacks, sandwiches, bagels, and sweets available which I have not tried yet. Corner spot with floor to ceiling glass windows so it’s cozy during rain or sunshine. Seatings include a large wooden table in the middle, a few two seater leather couches, some high chairs along the window and a few small tables towards the back. Staff are friendly and non pretentious. Tipping system is fair, that is, not defaulted to “25% 30% 35%” like some other establishments.

Great vibes, atmosphere and music. Really good coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Can’t really go wrong by stopping here but one caveat is that it took some time to get steamed milk and espresso based drinks (one barista and they were a little backed up on a Saturday morning). The barista was very friendly though and I could tell he made the drinks with care which I really appreciated 🫶🙏 and they were doing their best. Vegan breakfast sandwich on the menu also (vegans rejoice)! Which was very good. All in all good place to stop in.

Very sad coffee, great bagel, nice space. I don't think I'll come back for the coffee. The flat white I had was too hot, the milk too foamy and too thin. However great the coffee could have been using premium beans, the result tasted burned and bitter. If the milk had been silky and frothy it would have been very different experience. This coffee should probably not have crossed the counter. Although I left with a bitter taste in my mouth, I could see myself coming back for the ambiance and friendly staff.
