I really don't like leaving reviews that are not positive, but here we go. This place is sloooow. If you are in a hurry, don't come there. I went for lunch, at the start of lunch service. The guy before me said that he came through the drive-through, and they told him to come inside. He said he was waiting a while for anyone to help you. While we can see 7 people visibly in the kitchen. I had to wait about 8 mins. Mind you, I'm the second person on line. They take my order and give me a cup. NO ICE IN THE ICE MACHINE AT THE START OF LUNCH SERVICE. I did not complain because I said to myself, "I have more beverage for me. " My food is then handed to me and I ask for ketchup, and I am told that they do not have ketchup. What?! What fast food joint does not have ketchup for fries or a burger at the beginning of food service? No, this is not the first time I experienced an unnecessary long wait at this establishment. But I do not frequent there. But everytime I do go, it's the same thing. That was my first time going this year, and that happened in August. Just to give you an idea of how infrequent I go. So if you are in the mood of Wendy's, skip this location if you don't have a...
Read moreWendy's employees here do not read, speak, or understand a lick of English. I ordered some burgers online with a few adjustments, and they couldn't be bothered to do everything. I had to argue with the staff to get additions requested simply because of policies they made up on the spot to be lazy.
The employees are rude as well. I attempted to see if the bathroom was available and from the front desk. They didn't just tell me it's for employees only, but were screaming at me to get away from the bathrooms. I went to defuse the situation and explain that I would've left it alone, but they insisted on cutting me off, screaming at me that it's employees only.
I'd advise others to never come to this location if there were other Wendy's locations nearby, as the staff can't seem to handle basic requests or deal with customers in a professional sense. These have been ongoing issues for years, as well. Every time I've gone here, I've had to get my order replaced for one or more reasons. Go to any other restaurant if you're just looking for food. Guaranteed they'll get your order wrong, then proceed to not give you...
Read moreLet me start by giving a five-star rating to the photographer who did shot the Russian Tea Room (RTR) photo gallery on their website. It is an amazing job that makes the restaurant look absolutely spectacular in every way.
With that out of the way, I would say that the past few experiences at RTR has been subpar to be kind. The food quality has deteriorated (even when it is not Restaurant Week) and the service is consistently inconsistent. The best thing on the menu (scallops) are no longer on the menu. The Boeuf À La Stroganoff is probably the only good dish worth ordering at this point.
The ambiance has seemingly outlived its novelty and risks falling into showy/tacky territory. A more mature audience would still be able to appreciate the grandeur and the design of the Main Lounge and Dining Room, but that red (from the lights to the booths) just drags down the mood. There are better venues all around for fine dining in a lavish setting in Manhattan. As a matter of fact, I would rather walk a few extra blocks to the Todd English Plaza Hotel Food Hall in below-freezing temperatures than...
