The food was decent but the service was the RUDEST I ever experienced, the host/lady who in the front would never acknowledge you no matter how hard you try, you can wave, talk, give her all kind all signal and standing right in front her no she won’t even respond you have to go inside and flag down the server to get your order, this happened basically every time and today they try to charge me 2 dollar more for the same item I been ordering over last several months/last time was 2 weeks ago and on the manu it’s still the same price, try to ask them why it’s more the old lady in the front and one of their sever tryna tell me the price changed, first of all, the price didn’t change on the manu, when I tryna ask for manager or the owner(who was actually nice) they just keep telling me they are not here nothing they do, even tell me to come back tomorrow if I wanna complain, just mind you I still ordered but then when I asked for the itemize recipe, the old women refused to provide it, literally the worst service ever, here are photos of these 2 employees for people to be alert, check your bills everytime before you pay and hopefully the owner can see it and make the right decision when it comes to...
Read moreI don’t normally eat here that much, but I have been here a few times or so. With several locations in Chinatown, I find this to be more convenient since it’s located close to all the shopping areas of Chinatown. Enter this place and you’ll see plenty of their posters advertising their many incredible foods. XO kitchen also serves Japanese food like noodle soup, so you don’t always have to eat Chinese food if you don’t want. The other locations that are also located in Chinatown, serves other dishes. One of their locations does mostly hotpot, so for $25, you can have all-you-can eat ingredients for hotpot. Went their last time for hotpot and it was amazing. Ordered mainly seafood, and popular items like fish cake, beef ball, vegetable, thin beef, and many more. There are so many to list out; you just got to go and check for yourself. Unlike any cheap good-eats that you find around Chinatown, XO Kitchen is a bit more upscale, and therefore, you would have to spend a bit extra for your meal. Service can sometimes be a little slow, since the waiters are tending other customers, but still, XO has many dishes to...
Read moreThis place is a sister restaurant to the now closed XO Kitchen, which was located on Hester Street. A really big shame that their lease was not renewed (check out my review on this place). I've only visited XO Taste a couple of times but have to say they really met my expectation. Tried out their assorted wonton/dumpling soup, and it was amazing! and that too for under $10. The portion was huge and more than enough to serve as a meal. The yardstick for measuring any Cantonese restaurant is the quality of their beef Chow Fun and this dish came up aces at XO Taste. Their Dim Sum is not up to par with real Dim Sum places but then this place is not really meant for that. Their HK style milk tea is the one of the best I've had in NYC Chinatown. Hint - if you really want value for your money, ask for the tea in a paper cup. A large cup is only $3.50. Like XO Kitchen, they also include 18% gratuity on the bill - so need to keep an eye out for that. But the good thing is you, now don't have to decide whether you should tip them at 18 or 20% since it's already...
