Tldr solid Mexican place that won't disappoint, but probably won't wow you.
This is one of those times I wish Google would let me put a 4.5 star review. The place is clean with ample seating (although we went during early dinner hours). Service was middleing, mainly related to the fact that there was only one server and the owner/manager present. They were perfectly nice and friendly, but probably lost out on us ordering some more stuff because they really never checked in. As other reviewers have noted, they have a complimentary salsa bar. It's a fun little novelty, with a whole lot of different options to spice up your usual chips and salsa. The white salsa in particular was an interesting, savory option that my kids seemed to love. As far as the entrees go, that may have been one of the most perfectly cooked chimichangas I have ever had. Additionally, the arozz con pollo was delicious and they offered huge portions even for the kids menu. The remainder of what we ordered seemed okay for everyone, certainly not substandard but nothing extraordinary. Price was reasonable at about $10-20 per entree. Overall, it was a solid Mexican restaurant experience and I know we'll go back, but I won't be raving about it to...
Read moreMy husband and I heard great things so we went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, we both ordered off the lunch menu and as badly as I want to give a raving review I just can’t. The staff are amazing, the restaurant is clean but the food needs more flavor. I ordered the burrito and enchilada with shredded chicken, I couldn’t tell which was which. The chicken was dry and tasted as though it had been boiled or made a couple days earlier. My husband got the burrito and taco with ground beef and again, no flavor. Both burritos had a tortilla and our meat of choice, no beans, peppers, garnishes on the side to mix in, nothing. The meats didn’t even seem to be prepared with any sort of peppers or seasoning if I’m being honest. The tortilla chips were on the harder side but the salsa wasn’t too bad, the queso was incredibly runny as if they’d added in too much milk, even as it sat on the table throughout our meal it never hardened up. I’ve read all these great reviews, and as someone who has moved here from California, I find myself wondering if any of you have had authentic Mexican food. I am hoping they get the opportunity to stick around and the flavors will start to...
Read moreStopped in to order food to go & have a drink while waiting.. waitress seemed very confused by me asking to do so. They didn't have a bar area to sit in. I finally got to order margarita (3 flavor selection) & ig she went to make it then come back saying: "THey told me to ask for ID" which I had out on table already, she went back around the corner to sink area producing said "lime margarita" ... It was warm lime mixer, maybe 3 small ice pcs & some salted rim!! I took a sip & gagged. But I was thirsty- So I took another then pushing away to other side of table. I waited for food, the atmosphere was dull, cheap & not something you'd expect of 'Mexican Restaurant' .. Food was very bland. But I only had rice beans and 3 tacos for kiddo. Which he ate them. The rice was bright orange with lima beans? Beans okay mixed with rice. Did not care for...
