Lexie's is amazing. However for me this location is way to cramped. When it's packed, you have people literally standing in the middle and almost hovering over those sitting down eating. It seems they have a small space for being always so packed. I've had to leave a few times and go elsewhere, because the wait is way to long and with nowhere to actually wait for a table to clear is not worth it at times. But hey, if your a person who has the whole day with nothing to do, then stand and wait, but for those who want a great burger without the wait, look at the other locations. Also the service isnāt up to par. The fact that the make you go up to the counter to order your food and pay for your food instead of giving you the tab afterwards, why should I have to pay off the bat when maybe Iāll want other things. And they have raised their prices and removed burgers that where once good. I would rather make the drive to the other locations than come to this one ever again. The staff isnāt friendly..,if you donāt like your job then quit and have someone else whoāll appreciate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was my first - and last - visit to Lexie's in Newburyport. I stopped in tonight, excited to try their deep-fried Brussel sprouts. Since I was on foot I placed the plastic take-out bag in my backpack. When I got home and took the bag out of the backpack, I realized all the hot honey sauce had leaked out of the soggy, sagging cardboard container into the bottom of the bag. It was a terrible mess. Did I mention I also was carrying 2 library books in the backpack? Also the sticky sauce leaked onto the front of my favorite turtleneck. And the Brussels sprouts were hard and tasteless. When I called the restaurant to let them know of my experience, the only response I received was they would pack it better next time I came in. Of course there won't be a next time. Just a word of warning to the wary. Skip the Brussels sprouts here on at least 2 counts: no care taken in properly packaging takeout, and no taste in the food itself. Now it's time for me to toss the sprouts and clean up the mess. I just hate to throw away...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe last time I went into Lexi's it was freezing cold inside the building. OK, to be fair it was 63 degrees. We even spoke to the waitress about it who said that it takes a few hours to get the building up to a comfortable temperature because it's an old building. OK, can anyone say, "programmable thermostat"? Today we decided to give it another try. We went in there at noon and they had 2 customers and the temperature was 64 degrees. Can anyone say, "cheap owners"? Can anyone say, "Owners that are never there"? We left and went to Dos Amigos, and the heat was blasting, and they had customers. Surprise...
