I was a first time customer of Shake Shack in Newington and it is a new restaurant on the Berlin Turnpike. The month of May they were offering a hamburger promotion and the discount brought me in (free Shake Shack classic burger with a $10 purchase). I was warmly greeted by the manager who attended the front counter area. My questions about the way the food is prepared were answered fully (I have a shellfish allergy). The manager has a great attitude and good communication with the staff. The kitchen is easy to see behind the counter area and it was very clean and organized. As instructed, I took the table number and sat down where I wanted. Only had a 5 minute wait which was enough time to wash my hands (ladies restroom was immaculate at 6pm). The manager brought out the food to my table and was very kind to bring more napkins and ketchup when I asked. My classic burger and fried pickles were fantastic! Juicy burger with all the fixings that comes on a classic (lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles and fancy mayo). Fried pickles were perfectly crisp, not greasy, and had enough spice in the batter to enhance the pickle chips flavor (came with ranch dressing). My only critique is that the banana milkshake lacked the banana flavoring as it looked and tasted just like vanilla. However, when I told this to the manager he offered me a solution and we added more banana syrup, which corrected the problem. Overall, I had a wonderful first time experience at the Newington Shake Shack. I will definitely be back. I especially liked that they offered good promotions for the...
Read moreA little disappointed that this location chose not to carry dairy free shakes!
The staff here is still getting their sea legs, but the manager chatted with us for a little while and she was extremely polite and positive. One of our burgers was given to us in error (had cheese on it) but the mistake was caught by the staff as soon as the tray hit our table. They brought us the right burger extremely fast and let us keep the extra.
The burgers are definitely pretty darn good! The Carolina BBQ one didn’t taste like it had Carolina BBQ sauce on it - not enough mustard in the flavor - but it was prepared well and neatly.
The location was pristine, though it’s brand new so I would expect so.
If you’ve never been to Shake Shack, prepare for a shock. The ‘fast casual’ meal has really blown out of proportion, price-wise. Feeding a family of four was nearly as much as a trip to a full...
Read moreI have ordered from this establishment three times now, and my experiences have been mixed. On my first order, the food was outstanding, and I had no complaints whatsoever. Unfortunately, my second experience was disappointing. The food had an unpleasant taste of burnt oil, to the point that it left a harsh aftertaste that even burned my throat. I decided to give them another chance today, but again, the food had a similar burnt oil flavor.
While I understand that oil may need to be reused for efficiency, I believe it may not be changed frequently enough. As a result, we spent nearly $60 on food that was ultimately inedible. I hope they can address this issue to ensure a better experience for...
