One Pelham East Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Newport

Update - I was asked to call to speak to someone about our experience and have done so THREE TIMES, but have yet to hear back. Disappointing to say the least.

Paid for a bachelorette package and was told by a Pelham East staff member that our table was given away due to a flaw in the online booking system (i.e. a VIP package can also be booked at the same time as a bachelorette package even though they both require the same table, etc. If both systems aren't checked when the parties arrive, whoever arrives first gets the table. He literally showed us the “app” on his phone to explain the issue so I saw it with my own eyes and commented that the fact that we bought tickets last month was the reason this was missed. We were prepared and they, clearly, weren’t). Though the staff was originally apologetic and admitted their mistake (“we messed up, we gave away your table and we’re going to rectify it”), the "owner" later recanted and said we'd bought the wrong tickets and refused to refund us as a result, even though we sat in a table that would have been free otherwise and we paid for VIP (we had e-mails from Liz stating otherwise and explaining what was included in our package, etc.) The “owner” and Manager repeatedly came to the table to interrupt the party and pull multiple people away to discuss the issue which FURTHER RUINED THE NIGHT. When asked what table the people sitting in the VIP section had purchased to allow them to sit there (since we’d purchased the most expensive package on their recommendation), we did not receive a response. We hosted our welcome party at One Pelham East in Newport, and it was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding weekend. From the very beginning, the team at One Pelham East was incredible to work with. They guided us through every step of the planning process and helped us select the perfect space from their two amazing options, ensuring it would comfortably accommodate our group and match the vibe we wanted. Their attention to detail and willingness to help made planning so stress-free!

The menu was outstanding, offering plenty of delicious options to choose from. Our guests are still raving about the food—especially the chicken sandwiches, which were an absolute standout! The bartenders were equally fantastic, bringing such a friendly and upbeat energy to the evening. They went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome, and their creative and perfectly mixed drinks added to the festive atmosphere.

On top of that, the venue itself is beautiful and set the perfect tone for our welcome party. The space felt both intimate and lively, which is exactly what we were looking for. The team did an incredible job making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish, allowing us to relax and just enjoy the night with our family and friends.

I had an absolutely horrible experience at Pelham that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. The bouncers there are beyond aggressive, provoking patrons in a way that created a hostile atmosphere. They were rude, called people names, and escalated situations for no reason at all. I was just minding my business when one of the bouncers started insulting me, and when I tried to stand up for myself, The situation quickly escalated, and before I knew it, I was thrown into the street, resulting in a broken wrist.

The behavior of these bouncers is not only unprofessional but also dangerous. They are a liability to the business and create an environment that’s not only unsafe but completely disrespectful to customers. It’s clear that they have no regard for the well-being of patrons, and their actions will only lead to more legal problems for Pelham.

Pelham needs to reevaluate who they hire as security because these bouncers are doing nothing but damaging the reputation of the place and putting everyone at risk. Now my follow up process with them begins. based on all the other reviews in the bouncer section, seems i am not alone and based on the lack of response to other comments, problems like this rank low...
