MOJITOS SERVED A METAL BRISTLE IN THE SOUP! Seemed like a repeat and normal thing from the server's response. It was in the chicken noodle soup. There is a lot in the soup. So...I could not see the metal bristle. I chewed on it and knew something was not right. IMAGINE IF I SWALLOWED IT. THAT COULD BE A POTENTIAL SERIOUS INJURY TO INTERNAL ORGANS, OR DEATH. I showed the 1.5 inch metal bristle to the server. She said that it was from the dishwasher without hesitation. It sounded like this had happened previously with other customers. I asked the server to let the manager know. She did so immediately. The manager must have felt that it was not important enough to visit the table. I knew they did not care at the Norcross location. I decided to call the other location at The Forum. Felix the manager answered my call. I told him that I had an issue at the Norcross location, and that I wanted the owner "Luis G. Fernandez" to give me a call. 2 weeks have passed and I decided to call back. I again spoke with Felix. He said he gave Luis the message. He told me to wait for a moment, and he would call Luis again from the other line. He got a hold of Luis, and was told that I would receive a call back that same day. He said Luis was out-of-town when I called the 1st time. NO CALL BACK HAPPENED AT ALL. Too bad that this happened to me, and the owner does not care enough to even find out what happened. I only told Felix that I was a customer that had an issue when dining at the other restaurant, and felt that the owner needed to be aware. NO MORE MOJITOS FOR US OR OUR FRIENDS. I CAN'T TRUST THEM TO SERVE SAFE FOOD ANYMORE! NO CARE FROM THE MANAGER TO VISIT OUR TABLE AFTER I HANDED THE BRISTLE TO THE SERVER AND SHE TOOK IT TO THE KITCHEN. NO CALL BACK AFTER 2 CALLS FOR THE OWNER, AND A PROMISE FROM OTHER RESTAURANT MANAGER THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL BACK. IT DID NOT SEEM LIKE THEY PULLED THE SOUP AND GOT RID OF THE METAL BRISTLE BRUSH OR EQUIPMENT THAT SHED THE BRISTLES. I BELIEVE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE DIGESTED THESE BRISTLES, OR METAL FRAGMENTS WHEN THEY ATE AT MOJITOS. NO CARING, AND UNSAFE...
Read moreI wrote a previous review which was removed. My husband and I walked into Mojitos within the 2 o'clock hour on Sunday, January 8th, 2023. The greeter at the podium just stared at us without a greeting, without a welcome, without a hello. The first impression is an "F" for failure and if there was a level commonly known as below an "F" such as an "F-minus" it is what she would have received. The young lady was dark haired with very long hair. We have a picture of her. We stood there a good 10-15 seconds before she opened her mouth. I was wondering if I was working there and needed to initiate a greeting. This young lady should be employed at a Krystals restroom to clean it. If she were a part of my staff, she would be dismissed. After she just stared at us she very nastily asked something, but we just asked for the menu and wanted to observe the restaurant to see if any others modeled her unprofessional behavior. While standing there, others came in and she was delightful, welcoming and energetic. What was the difference? I'd have to chalk it up to what felt like racism. Even so, the aroma smelled wonderful so we asked a different young lady to seat us. We sat in the patio area and was pleasantly surprised to have an Ambassador of Excellence as our waitress in Bernice Martinez. This young lady was professional, accommodating, respectful and went more than the extra mile to make us happy. She went 100 miles to make us happy and satisfied. I'd hire her on my Executive Team in a heartbeat. Jorge who was working on the patio was also very kind in handling unruly and wild children who were running up and down the small walking area disturbing our dinner. Our first impression was an "F minus" due to the very filthy attitude of the podium attendant but Bernice made our dining experience an A+ and her recommendations...
Read moreThe mariquitas (like a stacked taco as below) has plaintan chips as the bottom and fresh cheese. Server was very happy to exchange the chicken for steak pieces. This was a very tasty dish overall and would have given it a 4. The other dish pictured below is an appetizer with empanadas, yuca fries, and stuffed plaintan. As you can see below the dish is not very beautiful and the empanadas are not pretty to look at. Taste was decent, but I very much dislike ground beef and would have been a lot better with steak pieces or shredded beef. The other empanada had spinach and mushroom and did not taste nice at all. The stuffed plaintan were stuffed with avocado salad, another with ground beef, and the other with shrimp. It would be nice if they include that information on the menu. Appetizer overall was a 3. Not pictured is my friends dish "ropa vieja" which is beef brisket in like a stewish sauce. This did not taste nice at all. Sides included fried ripe plaintan, a cup of black beans. Not pretty to look at to say the least and not that tasty. This was 2 stars or less. However, the server and the manager were more than willing to change the dish for us at no charge. Service and friendliness of staff is a 5 or higher for sure. At the end of the meal, there were a lot of deserts not available. The tres leches cake was not that flavorful but it was big enough to be shared. The mojito drink was very tasty and alcohol content did not seem that high which for me is perfect. Overall I might go there again but will definitely try other...
