I placed a to-go order through the Waffle House online app, excited to enjoy a meal that I had been looking forward to for myself and my children who were traveling from Louisiana to Maryland via car and your Glen Allen, VA store #1209 was one of the few food stops off the highway during that hour. However, upon my arrival at the restaurant, I was disappointed to find that the doors were locked. I noticed that the shift manager, Wayne, was present inside with one cook but did not open the door for me or any other customers who had arrived. I waited outside and watched several other customers pull up and wait outside the door and near the to-go order window but Wayne simply ignored everyone waiting for orders and to place an order. Several customers knocked on the to-go window and Wayne never even turned to acknowledge any of the customers waiting, although the signs above both to-go windows also showed as “Come Inside”. After waiting approximately twenty minutes after my order was due to be ready. Once of the customers already seated inside from a small group of about seven proceeded to exit the restaurant and realize that no only were we locked out but they were locked in. The gentleman finally unlocked the door and several of the customers still waiting outside to place and pick up order proceeded inside of the restaurant but was greeted by shift manager Wayne stating, “How did y’all get inside”? Several of the customers explain that a customer inside opened the door but we were all waiting outside to pick up or place orders. Wayne explained that he had a party of seven that came in (even though all other tables were empty) and he could only deal with those orders so he locked the doors to the restaurant and we all needed to leave. I further explained to shift manager Wayne that my order had been paid for and place over 40 minutes prior and that my pick up time was 30 minutes ago. He continued to tell me that I needed to leave so he could lock the door back because the restaurant couldn’t accommodate my order. My order was 3 orders of double waffles only. I continued to ask Wayne if he could tell me how long it would be before the cook could get to my order because we were traveling and my children were waiting to eat. He explain that he couldn’t give me a time frame and had no idea when the cook would be able to get to my order. Wayne stated that a guesstimate would be another 45 minutes but he couldn’t guarantee that time either since he had seven people in the restaurant that he was already trying to serve. I then requested a refund and my family could continue to drive to find another restaurant. Wayne stated that he could not provide me with a refund and that I would need to wait for the store manager to get in which wouldn’t be until several hours from then but Wayne suggested that my children and I could wait in the parking lot for several hours for the store manager to arrive. I proceeded back to my car and Wayne immediately locked the door to the restaurant again behind me leaving several new customers that had recently pulled up outside. This situation was particularly frustrating as I had already placed my order and expected to be able to pick it up as scheduled. I understand that there may be operational procedures in place, but it felt very disheartening to be left outside without any explanation or assistance and that a shift manager would take it upon himself to close the restaurant during working hours. As a loyal customer of Waffle House whenever our family travels it’s our favorite place to stop, I believe that communication and service are key components of a positive experience, and this incident did not reflect that.

On, July 24, 2021 I was sitting waiting on my order @store #2376 612 Jefferson Hwy in New Orleans, La. A young lady with the orange hair blew her nose behind the counter in the in the food preparation area. I walked up to her and stated to her in a manner that no other customer would hear, she immediately raised her voice in defense and stated that she wasn't serving anyone, but she was holding an ink pen and writing on a pad that other staff would be using. I immediately asked for the Manager who appeared, and from my first impression It didn't appear that she felt that anything was wrong. The waitress stated to her I wasn't serving anyone, I looked at them both and then I turned to the Manager to wake her up. I stated that she is behind the counter and she blew her nose and then she picked up the ink pen was using the same pad as others, the Manager finally told her she should was her hands. This young lady walked to a table without washing her hands and started assisting a customer. I asked the Manager for the GM information, but wasn't provided it. The Manager appeared upset as well because I said something. This type of Unsanitary Behavior should not be accepted at any Establishment anytime, Especially now due to COVID-19. WAFFLE HOUSE WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON WE'RE JUST HIRING ANYBODY. I HAD TO PLACE A STAR TO POST, BUT 1 STAR IS A STAR TOO MANY. COVID -19 WILL NEVER GO AWAY WITH THIS TYPE UNSANITARY CONDITIONS

My first question in general is why in the world does Waffle House keep the place so cold the windows are fogged up, then when you go in there it’s freezing?? It’s ridiculous!! Nobody wants to sit down and eat when it’s freezing!! Or you walk in, EVERY table that’s available is dirty, the store is NOT busy, yet employees will leave the tables dirty and go take a smoke break?? And a lot of the ppl yall hire is definitely NOT customer service material have attitudes NOR clean!! This photo along with broken egg shells in the floor including under the table where I was sitting! I actually kicked half of an eggshell back behind the counter! ***Notice the top of the napkin holder?? I ordered a light waffle which should be a light golden brown not as dark as they’re normally made and I get it and it looks WHITE it’s so light?? 🤦‍♀️

WELL RD WEST MONROE LA LOCATION: So I just want to make this post so other parents and people are aware of what kind of people are at this location which I get it, it’s Waffle House but still it’s an establishment that they should hold themselves to some standards??! We are at the Wells Rd. Waffle House in West Monroe and while we sat down my sisters 2 year old son was crying and having a fit like all kids do and she was trying to console him trying to calm him down it was no more than 5 minutes!!! Then an employee with a crackhead smile is going to come up and ask her if she can “calm him down bc people are trying to eat in peace” we just looked at her like are you crazy rn? That’s what we’re literally doing in this moment?!! Brooke told her “that’s what I’m trying to do? you don’t see me?!“ and she told Brooke “no I didn’t see you trying I was in the kitchen??” Like HUH so Brooke said “well do you have kids? You should know how it can be? “ And she just was saying how it’s distracting and basically causing discomfort for everyone!! At that point I’ve had enough and said the same thing Brooke said that you see us trying to console him and kids cry we are dealing with it she proceeded to walk away and move back to the kitchen well after all that we didn’t feel comfortable eating so we got up and told our waitress we wouldn’t be staying to eat. She was very apologetic and you could see that she even knew it was wrong for what the woman said to us. We asked for her name which is Heidi Griggs and she is the MANAGER! While we got up abt to walk out the door the manager Ms. Heidi Griggs proceeded to stop us AGAIN and say “I wouldn’t have said anything if people weren’t complaining” and I told her “I doubt that anyone said anything in such a short amount of time but your trying to act like this is a fine dining restaurant if you have kids you should know sometimes they cry???”” Keep in mind only two older couples were in the restaurant and someone at the bar the place wasn’t packed. She kept telling me she did have kids but she can console them and after that I walked out with some choice words that I don’t need to repeat but in all seriousness watch out bringing kids to this Waffle House very embarrassing and hard whenever your a mom just trying to eat and having to deal with...

I have been a loyal Waffle house Customer for over 50 years! Sadly, I just had the worst Waffle House Customer Experience I have ever had. My wife and I went into the Waffle House on the Red Bud Road in Calhoun, Georgia at around 6:00 PM this evening (Saturday - September 6, 2015) for an evening meal.

First of all, there weren't hardly anyone in the restaurant, but it was like we, as customers, were either invisible or unimportant. We had to wait at least 10 minuites before were were asked if we would like to order some food! I first tried to order the Senior Cheseburger Dinner, but when I attempted to place my order, my server, a young man, told me that they were unfortunately out of Hamburger Buns. So, no Cheseburger Dinner. What kind of restaraunt that sells Hamburgers and Cheeseburgers is out of Hamburger Buns at 6:00 PM on a Saturday Night? If you ask me it is a POORLY RUN Restaurant!

Please wait, it gets even worse.... Since I couldn't get a Cheeseburger because this Waffle House didn't have and Hamburger Buns, I decided to order a Large Bowl of Bert's Chili and some Crackers to go with the Chili. I love the Waffle House Bert's Chili! So, when my Chili was served, I reminded my Server that I had requested Crackers with my Chili. Then after several moments of searching all over the Kitchen, he found two packs of crumpled up Crackers. I accepted, but explained that eating a large bowl of Bert's Chili will certainly require more than two packs of Crackers. So, my Server searched high and low throughout the restaurant, but it was determined that the Waffle House on the Red Bud Road in Calhoun, Georgia was now out of Hamburger Buns and Saltine Crackers at 6:00 PM on a Saturday Night! I was offered Texas Toast to eat with my Chili, but no, I only eat Saltine Crackers with my Chili. Once again, I believe POOR MANAGEMENT is to blame for this poor Customer Experience. I do not blame your Front Line Staff. It is most unfortunate for your Front Line Staff to be put in such a ridiculous predicament on a Saturday Night - no Saltine Crackers and no Hamburger Buns.

In summary, if you are going to sell Hamburgers and Chili in your restaurant, you need to have Hamburger Buns and...
