The A.M. service was superb, but the P.M. service tonight was a completely different experience. On my first night, the P.M. service was excellent—there was a team member (I didn’t catch his name) who was outstanding. However, tonight was a different story.
After placing my order, I had to follow up at the front desk because it hadn’t been acknowledged. The staff member who had just started her shift had no idea about my order, which suggests an opportunity for better communication and smoother handoffs between shifts. While she did take the time to look up my order and address it, her initial response was to suggest that I go down and ask the bartender myself. Only after I asked if my room had been charged did she investigate further.
Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially at this key touchpoint in my stay. When the order finally arrived, it was incorrect, the food was cold, and it appeared to have been sitting out for a while—almost as if it were an end-of-shift meal rather than a fresh order. Despite this, I appreciate the effort made to resolve the situation. Hopefully, this serves as an opportunity to improve service and enhance...
Read moreWe were the only people in the restaurant other than two people at the bar first off I ordered my first beer. It was 3/4 full my second beer they were out and I actually watched them. Pour me a different kind of beer and they did not even tell me then we ordered food. They told my wife that her salad did not include dressing. The food was average, but the service was OK and my wife ordered Apple pie for dessert. They brought her a half a piece of crust with four pieces of apple and no pie and wanted to know why we weren’t satisfied with the dessert and put ice cream on it to cover it up that we didn’t order and my wife ordered coffee and it took them 15 minutes to figure out how to work the coffee machine nobody seemed to know what they were doing not to mention I need to catch up for my french fries, and the girl actually handed me an empty bottle of ketchup, and I had to ask for a bob ketchup that had ketchup in it...
Read moreLooking for a new place to try in the uptown normal area, a friend and I tried Jesse's Grill. Upon arriving our server, of which I believe her name was Casey, greeted us explained to us her recommendations, and made polite conversation. She was extremely friendly and knew exactly what she was talking about. I ordered the Jesse Burger with a side of normal fries (at her recommendation) and it was quite delicious.
The reason I am writing this review is because of the excellent service I received from our waitress. In fact I connected my email to google review for the expressed purpose of complimenting her. She was the best service I have received in a very long time.
Casey, if I have her name correct, is a stand up example of more than excellent service and all people in the food industry should attempt to be as great as her.
Overall the food was quite good, and the service was...
