So don't let my review detract from the food, which was great. We've historically ordered takeout from here but made the HUGE mistake of trying to eat in the restaurant this time. Our waitress was at first attentive, but then very clearly a more important party came in and our waitress was assigned to them. She came over at one point and I said we were ready to order. She looked at me like at me very irritated and said she'd be back, then stormed off. She then served the more important table (the manager hovered over them all night) and she didn't return for 20 mins. So we sat. Hungry. And waited. She finally returned and we ordered 3 simple apps. We then again sat. Hungry. And waited, whilst seeing all around us getting food quicker. One even had the same dish as one we ordered, yet sat down long after us. In the end it was a 90 minute ordeal to basically get some hummus and a couple of apps. So you show preference to a family or important customer, I get it. But then reassign your waiter/waitress!!! We shouldn't all have to suffer because the manager has a crush on certain customers or friends (I noted the mgr made no effort to go to ask other customers experience... couldn't care less) It was a bad enough experience, I won't even bother with takeout...
Read moreLunch Kafta ($14.99) at @shadisrestaurant. "Ground lean beef and lamb, mixed with parsley, onion and spices. Charcoal broiled". Their hand-cut fries are excellent. The nicely charred kafta was really delicious, and they were also juicy and really well seasoned. You get fresh warm pitas in a plastic bag with real butter. My side salad was pleasant, as was the house dressing. The service here is always impeccable and friendly.
Lunch Lamb ($16.99) at @shadisrestaurant. "On the stick. Charcoal broiled with onion". The lamb was ordered rare, and it was. It was also super tender. The handcut fries are a real treat. The salad was fresh, but I'll order the dressing on the side the next time. Lunch Thurs-Sat only.
Lunch Arabic Platter ($15.50) at @shadisrestaurant. "Baked Kibbe, Grape Leaves and Cabbage". This time I ordered the Caesar dressing on the side, which was delicious! Fries of course. The baked kibbe was very tasty and had some sort of filling in the middle. The grape leaves themselves were very tasty and a bit tart. The filling was OK, the rice was overcooked for me, and the filling was a bit bland. The cabbage was the same, boring and overcooked filling. This was a good way of tasting three items. The fresh pitas and the real butter didn't make it into...
Read moreWhat a wonderful experience we had at Shadi’s this weekend!
We threw a surprise 70th birthday party for my mother. Shadi and their team were warm, welcoming, and incredibly supportive at every step of the way.
They provided us with our own private room, servers, and even helped us create a special menu with family style apps and sides for the entire crew.
This was several of our first times at Shadi’s (among many frequent fliers in the mix), and the food was absolutely FANTASTIC! The hummus and tabbouleh, kebab, baked haddock, and mediterranean platter were all incredible - and the portions were huge.
The caring service from Maureen and Katie was also so kind, thorough, anticipatory, and flexible. Every request and question we had they had an easy and kind solution for. They both truly went above and beyond, made the experience so smooth, and left everyone feeling like we were among family.
We could not be happier with the experience and would (will!) absolutely be asking Shadi’s to have us back for events in the future.
Thank you Shadi, Maureen, Katie, the chefs, and the rest of the lovely staff so much for making my mom’s...
