I'm a DD guy. I love the coffee, and occasionally enjoy a snack from them. I usually visit a couple of DDs around the area. This particular location has only recently made it into my rotation. But after my last visit, it will definitely be my last (at this particular location).
Almost every time I've stopped in at this DD, there's been a problem:
Twice I've tried to order an apple fritter and they've been out of them. Okay, maybe they don't make enough for some reason. I won't hold that against them.
Time before last, I went in and got a coffee. As I was getting into my car, I discovered that the woman working the counter didn't put the lid on the cup tight enough. I discovered this because hot coffee came out the side and splashed on my hand. I wasn't badly burned or anything, so I let that go. I pushed the lid on tight and drove off without saying anything. Accidents happen, right? Maybe she thought it was on tight, or she got distracted, or was new. Whatever.
Last week, I stopped in to get a quick snack and purchase the coupon book for coffee – the 10 large coffees for 13 bucks deal they had going. I walk in and see two women standing behind the counter, both counting a stack of singles (dollar bills). No, they weren't counting the register. They were counting their tips. I walk up and they keep counting their money. Finally, satisfied that they've done well for themselves, they both pocket their money and give me a look like, “What?” I ask for a coffee coupon book. In broken English, one woman says they don't have it. I look at the large sign advertising it that's placed in front of the register. Then I look behind me at the door where there's another sign on the front door advertising it. I ask if they're not selling it (in which case, what's with the signs all over the place?), or are they sold out? She says, “No, we out.” Okay... Well, do they expect to get some in the near future? She shrugs and says, “I don't know.” Great. That's helpful. I order a coffee and before I can say anything else, she rings it up and asks for money. I tell her I'm not done, I want to order a sandwich, too (like, what the hell's the hurry? I'm the only customer in the place).
Folks, three strikes is it for me. There's plenty of other DDs in the area, and if I don't feel like making the drive down Rockville Pike to another one, I'll get a coffee from McDonald's. It's cheaper anyway.
But in the meantime, take my advice: Avoid this particular DD. It's a trainwreck with bad employees and obviously...
Read moreThe food is consistently good which is a major plus BUT out of the 4 times I've gotten coffee here, twice they have given me regular milk instead of almond milk. I am not solely basing this on taste, I am actually lactose intolerant and my stomach definitely knew that it was real milk and not almond milk, so to my lactose intolerant friends, beware! Also one time they didn't put in hazelnut but it was on the label and the lady was kind of difficult when I went back to ask her to add it. Lastly, shoutout to the guy who is always there, I don't know his name but he always wears a hat, he is amazing! Always helping out where needed and making sure people get their items in a timely manner. I'll keep coming here for food but unfortunately my stomach cannot handle getting my...
Read moreI started working in the area a little over 6 months ago. This Dunkin is within walking distance from my job so I visit often out of convenience. When I first began visiting the service was great. Fast forward to now. My order is always missing something whether it be them serving me iced coffee instead of cold brew or my drink missing cold foam, one munchkin. These things seem minor but when you’re paying extra for something you expect to get it. I understand the rush but taking 5-10 more seconds to make sure someone’s order is correct wouldn’t hurt. I always say when working in the service industry would you as a worker be satisfied with the service you provide. I truly hope the service...
