Jason's Deli has fast become our go-to place for many of the meals we eat outside of our home, including lunches or at supper time. It's large in size and inviting to all who enter the front doors. The place is kept very clean, the salad bar has always had very fresh items to choose from, the sandwiches are delicious and can be modified to suit your tastes, and the pasta dishes are so tasty (as are all of their meals that we have tried this far). You can choose full size sandwiches, or you can order the manager's special which is half a sandwich with a side order (cup of soup, fruit cup - and it's a good size fruit cup in a porcelain dish, not a plastic cup - and the meal comes with regular potato chips or baked potato chips. They have a vegetarian menu, and it's easiest to see what is available by asking the person at the cash for this individual healthy meal menu. Speaking of soups a moment ago, the souls are incredible. My fav is the chicken noodle - but order it in a cup instead of a bowl because it's almost a meal in itself!!
By the way, the place is, large and they always have many, many people inside (but it's big enough, you can almost always find a place to sit). And for 80% of the meals, they bring them to your tables.
My father-in-law is a vegetarian and my mother-in-law walks with a walker and they have enjoyed every meal and the service while they have been visiting this week (they keep asking to go back to Jason's Deli!)
As I mentioned the service, I can't go ahead without mentioning the staff. Every single person who works there is kind, helpful and courteous. I have not met one person who has said or done a thing to irate me out any other customer, nor has anyone said anything derogatory or disrespectful in any way. "Super Staff"!!
I'm not just suggesting you try Jason's Deli, I'm highly recommending this establishment to eat....
Read moreI've been to Jason's Deli several times, and I have enjoyed the food. However, I prefer a smaller mom and pop deli rather than a chain deli.
You are mostly on your own in this cafeteria style deli. You will order at the register and seat yourself. You will serve yourself drinks and salad if you place an order for the salad bar. They will bring your order to your table after preparation.
While there, I sought out my own take-home container at the end of my meal. I also got my own drink refills, which is one of the amenities when you purchase your meal. They also offer free ice cream. But I didn't get to enjoy that due to the number of people seeking it out, and on one encounter, it was unavailable due to a breakdown of the machine. I believe there are family benefits for children's meals. But I have no little ones, so I can't speak to that.
I did purchase gift certificates for family members for Christmas, and they enjoyed using them at other locations.
I've enjoyed both mufalata and turkey deli sandwiches. The sides, I can't remember them, so they were not memorable enough to recall.
I love their hibiscus berry tea and their Texas chocolate cake. The cake surprised me. It was nothing to look at, but it was moist, and the frosting was the perfect amount and not too sweet. I get it every time I have gone, and it's consistently good. The mufalata was tasty, and the quarter sandwich that I ordered at my last visit is larger than I expected. I think I would have appreciated meat on the entire sandwich, though. The ends were bare. We ate later in the evening and perhaps that was the issue. Family members have ordered the Reuban sandwich, and it looks good. My daughter thought the meat was tough this last visit.
I say give it a go. It's a family-friendly place and decent food portions...
Read moreCan’t find this particular Jason’s Deli on TripAdvisor, otherwise I would post this there. Awful experience – worst we’ve ever had at a Jason’s Deli. It was a Sunday night and not very busy (steady, but not in any way crowded). We picked Jason’s Deli out of every other offering nearby as we were staying at the Great Wolf Lodge and didn’t want to eat there. Yet it was one struggle after another. Our food took over 20 minutes to arrive. When we asked after 17 minutes, we were told they were “waiting on the pepperoni pizza” and then it would all be served “piping hot”. The pizza was barely warm. Then the soup was brought even later. The salad bar was in need of replenishment and we had to ask for a couple specific items. The staff had a hard time bussing tables so some tables had dirty plates and trash on them for our entire visit. For some reason, getting mustard took three minutes. Also a mystery, the staff decided to replace the ice cream cones, which caused a back up at 7:15 pm. But then they left it such a mess, another member had to come clean it, causing another back up. I think worst of all was the lack of remorse (or maybe lack of awareness/indifference) from the staff/management. Just a very far cry from our normal Jason’s Deli expectations in Cary...
