My husband and I anticipated having a barbecue dinner at Corky's Barbecue on McCain Blvd in No. Little Rock. Sad to say that we were both disappointed by the quality of our sandwiches. Kennedy, our server, was great! This young lady has a million watt smile & great personality! She's sweet, checked on us often. I give her 5⭐'s. After we ordered, she brought a basket of warm, homemade rolls. Butter & mild honey is on each table. The honey is perfect to drizzle the rolls with! I ordered Onion Rings as an appetizer. When the O-Rings arrived, they were hot from the oil. They really needed to have drained them a few minutes, before serving. The O-Rings were thick, well battered slices of onion. The onions were good thick slices, no skinny, burnt pieces arrived in the large basket. The Barbecue Ranch Dip was interesting, not bad. It's a mild Barbecue flavor, with the Ranch on the back. Personally, I prefer regular Ranch to dip in. Our plates arrived soon after the Rings. We both ordered jumbo pork sandwiches, with slaw. I got a side order of fried okra. My husband got 2 half-order sides, fries & barbecue beans. The Barbecue Sauce is in a bottle on the tables for you to sauce your sandwich as you like. The first thing that I noticed was that the meat was dry, dark, overcooked. It was scattered on the bun. The buns were not piled with meat, they weren't even covered in meat. The meat didn't cover the bottom bun. The slaw on my sandwich wasn't a serving, it didn't cover the pork. It looked like slaw was put on with a teaspoon, not a serving spoon, I had about half the slaw needed to cover my sandwich. When I took the first bite of my sandwich, I knew my disappointment was more than visual. Instead of tender, juicy pulled pork, I was chewing on dry chunks. I think the Pork was dried out by multiple reheats, each reheat caused the pork to get drier & harder. I ate one bite of my sandwich, I was done. Instead, I nibbled on O-Rings, okra & fries. I brought the whole Sandwich home. My husband ate only half of his sandwich, its very unusual for him not to eat his whole sandwich. He didn't enjoy his either. We enjoyed the warm, delicious rolls, fries, O-rings, beans & okra. The 2 sandwiches were big disappointments. We won't...
Read moreToday's experience at Corky's unfortunately was not a very good one. It has been several years actually since I had eat at corky so I thought it would give it a shot. We walked in and ordered a full rack of ribs along with a side of one of the big sandwiches.
The ribs were tasty and seem to be seasoned extra well, how are the big sandwich left a lot to be desired.
The sandwich was supposed to contain pork sausage beef brisket and coleslaw. The consistency of the sandwich even though it had sauce on it was extremely dry, and the temperature of which the sandwich was brought out was room temperature at best.
The meat on the sandwich tasted old. Which it leads me to believe that this sandwich is just the leftover scraps of everything else they don't sell combined together to make one sandwich.
So to sum it up the meat was old and it was served at room temperature. The fries that were served along with it are a beer-battered fries which I do not like.
I believe that barbecue should be served with crinkle cut fries or just a simple sack of Lay's or ruffles playing potato chips. Barbecue and beer battered french fries do not go together!
The barbecue sandwich and a glass of ice tea with tip left me $20 short out of my pocket.
So to sum it up for the sandwich and a drink with a tip was $20. For the quality of sandwich I received it was simply not worth the value during today's visit.
Corky's BBQ has a far better reputation for serving better food than what was currently received here today.
Joe needs to go into his restaurant sit down order some food and see what's being served at this location.
That is why I'm writing it two stars for...
Read moreI understand covid is still going on but when the entire state is open back to 100% and I come in with my family (12 of us including my husband and I our 5 kids my dad my sister her boyfriend and my brother and a niece) we should have been able to sit together. And when you automatically add gratuity to party's of 8 or more, some service would actually be nice. I work in the industry so I completely understand being short staffed and may be a little more picky than most but thats because I know how things should be going. It took them about 10 mins to pull together 2 tables and set up a booth, after we were sat it took about 10 mins to even be acknowledged. When we got there, there was maybe 2 other tables in there. We could clearly see the people just standing around. Our server/bartender took our drink order brought them then about 10 mins to come back and get the app order and then we didn't see her again till after the apps hit the table. She finally got our order and she did bring the younger kids food out first which I really do appreciate. Everything was right except mine. No big deal but the food wasn't very good. My dad and husband had the dry rub ribs. Best thing about that place in my opinion but they were so hard and old my husband actually broke a tooth on it. The cole slaw something was off about it. Overall we were very disappointed with our overall experience. I gave 3 stars because I've been there plenty of times before and for the most part its bee great but this was just...
