My family and I have been coming to this specific location for years and I am sad to say that this is the first time we have ever had a bad experience. I had made a reservation for a large party. We arrived and the table was not ready. It was expressed that we had 6 children with us so we needed to be seated quickly. We waited 45 minutes for the table which was about the time that walk-in customers were being given. There was very little empathy given by the hostess, who should be the customer service front line. Her response was "we got busy and had to give up the tables" which was not something you say to someone who made a reservation and they did not have any contingency. By the time the table was vacated, the staff did not show a sense of urgency to set it up, rather they were having conversations, going at a leisurely pace and joking with one another. The hostess, within earshot of my wife, stated that my wife was rude for being upset about the poor table management. When we got to the table, even though we requested high chairs, there were none set. In addition, even knowing that we were upset, the manager made no effort to come over to us to acknowledge the issue and try to reconcile it. The only thing that occurred was the hostess darting her eyes at our table uncomfortably while were sitting. It's very upsetting to me, but the customer service we received was subpar, at best. One should not have to call ahead of arrival to verify that the table they reserved is ready. That's what the reservation is for. With the amount of money that was spent for that mean, no one should ever be subjected to that experience. Extremely disappointed is an...
Read moreDisappointing experience. Our server was LaLa. First, she didn't have a good understanding of the items on the menu, when I asked for a description of what garlic & crab dusting was, she couldn't explain. During our entire visit, she spent all her time at a table in the bar with a family with small children. They arrived after us, were served before us, and she had no idea that there was a problem with our meal until we asked another server for assistance. My husband's steak was ordered medium well, and it came out medium rare. When she said she'd have them put it back on the grill, I asked for a fresh piece of meat so it wasn't tough from the recook. Her response was to roll her eyes and say she'd get the manager. The manager came out and said the new steak would take a few minutes, which was fine, but he didn't say he was sorry, didn't ask about my meal, didn't ask if there was anything he could do in the meantime. Just lacked basic customer service. When the new steak came out, Lala was still standing chatting with the family, she never brought the extra bread we requested. She had not checked on us at all. My crab encrusted cod was dry, with canned or overly processed crab meat on it. The augratin potatoes were also dry. The only redeeming item tonight was the pomegranate martini, which was perfect. There was a gentleman server working other tables in our area, and he was super attentive to his customers, wish we'd sat at one of his tables! In the end, the manager apologized and adjusted our bill, but frankly we would have preferred a nice meal with decent service. We have always had great experiences at bonefish in the past, not so...
Read moreThis was our first time at this Bonefish Grill and it did not measure up to our experience at other Bonefish locations, which is sad because we are now locals. My wife ordered a vodka martini extra dry, and she got a dirty martini. Ok, mistakes happen, let's move on. We were told that the seasonal vegetable of the day was green beans, sounds good, we both ordered green beans as sides, along with jasmine rice. I had trout and my wife had grilled scallops and shrimp.
Instead of green beans, thick Mexican street corn appears alongside a glob of rice that is so sticky you need a bulldozer to move it. Honestly, talk about starch city, what was the chef/cook thinking? What about presentation? It made both plates anything but appetizing.
When we caught up with our server we asked if we could just have an order of Thai green beans instead of the corn, no problem. However, it would have been nice if we had not been charged for it - after all, she acknowledged we should have received green beans.
Now I realize that in the total scheme of things nasty rice and corn and the wrong martini isn't the end of the world, but this is a business transaction, yes? And we did spend a fair amount of money, which is to say that we weren't at the local diner...where they do try to make things right. O yes, and this was a special occasion. And we were looking forward to an enjoyable dinner, based on our previous experience at other Bonefish locations.
After moving here 4 years ago we waited until now to try the local Bonefish, after all, there are SO MANY restaurants in the area, in case you haven't noticed. We should have...
