Horrible experience, the one bartender was only catering to people he knew. So i went up to the other bartender. I said “hey man, your buddy doesn’t want to take my money, I’ll give you good tip. I just want one quick drink” the bartender then said to me “get the hell out of here, that’s my boy. If he doesn’t want to serve you I’m not either, get the hell out” I’ve never been so blatantly disrespected and treated poorly before for trying to order a drink. The International Cafe is an underrated, hidden gem in NMB. As a Michigander, I’ve visited this bar multiple times over the span of 7 years and all I can say is the hospitality in this bar is unmatched!!! On my most recent trip I realized while sitting at the bar that my phone somehow got water damage and they brought me out a bucket of rice from the kitchen. The first night I was there it was wonderful. The manager was working and my husband and I had a great time. The second night he wasn't there, and it wasn't so great. There is a music player where you can put on your own music to chill, and the female bartender wanted me to spend my hard earned money on dance music to attract college students.
