I’ve been coming to the Main St., Café for breakfast for a few years. Although I found it expensive, I was willing to pay the price. Today I opted to purchase a breakfast sandwich, however, when it was delivered to me, I noticed the meat was wrong and I mentioned that to the server. She offered to make me another one and I said no that’s fine. I’ll eat it as it is. I had already waited 15 minutes and I really didn’t want it to be a hassle for her nor did I wish to wait any longer. When I open my sandwich, I realized the cheese was American cheese, which I find disgusting. When I mentioned this to her, she said they were out of provolone, which is what I had ordered. I’m not sure why she didn’t tell me that and give me an option before making my sandwich, however, she did not. Anyway, when I mentioned this to her, she offered to make another one and I said I appreciate that, but no thank you. I really don’t have any more time to wait, please just give me back my money. At that point somebody else got involved, who I believe to be the owner. She was very snippy with me and finally gave me back my money after she verified that I had paid $9.31 + tip for a breakfast sandwich! When she gave me the money back, I said I’m sorry… She said that’s OK. To which I retorted, you should say, you’re sorry. Behind me, an individual who apparently is related or affiliated with this individual, said you better watch your mouth!
As you can imagine, I was very disappointed and shocked that all of this occurred as it had. I’ve been a loyal customer for the last few years, however, I will...
Read moreStopped here for coffee while on a walk. Ordered an iced coffee understanding that this cafe is probably not a specialty shop dedicated to coffee. My mom ordered an iced latte. My coffee was ok and was drinkable and the girl behind the counter taking our order was nice, although it seems like she was doing mostly everything, so props to her! (hence the 2 stars). But I’d say that’s where the positive part ends. My mom ordered an iced latte and it was pretty much an entire cup of milk that wasn’t even coffee colored. I’m not sure there is an actual espresso machine there to make lattes either, which is probably why it wasn’t good. There does not seem to be a designated food prep area and instead staff was cooking on two small griddles, which doesn’t seem to be super efficient. The real issue is that we observed a very large pack of bacon sitting beside the griddles (at room temperature) waiting to be cooked. There was nothing covering it, meaning that flies were hanging all over it. This isn’t sanitary, and I would not purchase food prepared here. Save your money and go elsewhere if you’re looking for good coffee and a clean and organized environment. I think the business has potential but needs to revamp and put proper food safety measures in place and learn how to make coffee drinks if they are going...
Read moreFirst visit was okay. I arrived later in the day so I was fine with the small selection of pastries to choose from. But they were good.
Got there about 10 minutes after opening this time. Noticed pickings were slim still! I asked if cinnamon rolls were available. And was answered with "they are in then oven".....so asked if they knew how long they would be (planning on grabbing a coffee while waiting). They said they "still had 10 minutes in the oven". Not answering my question so I asked if they would be available in 10 minutes. Dodging my question again responded with: "I still have to put the icing on". Already tired of this , I stood there waiting for my question to be answered as she started to explain that she can't ice them while hot (which is fine). Just looking for an answer. Never got it.
So I asked about the bear claws....she said they have em. Then looked in the empty display and said they must have "sold out." 10 minutes after opening??
Hopefully their stuff is that fresh.
I ended up leaving...
