First, I want to say that Kim is the most amazing baker. She truly cares what she puts in her shop and she truly cares about her customers. I have a gluten allergy and there’s not very many bakeries that I can eat at. Kim makes sure to have lots of gluten-free options on hand. Today, I went in and got a GF blueberry scone. I can’t remember the last time that I’ve had one of these. It was so good and honestly, I couldn’t even tell it was gluten-free. To all of my gluten-free friends out there please check her out. We finally have a bakery that provides pastries and delicious gluten-free sweet options and I couldn’t be more excited. The picture that I attached is my half eaten scone lol but it was so beautiful. It also tastes a delightful as it looks!

We stopped for coffee but added several pastries and roll. Our bill was $39.21. We made our own offer, added packaged sugar. It was bland therefore I asked for one pump of Carmel flavoring. (Two coffees were $7.00). The lady that I asked for one pump of Carmel was SO RUDE. She said to us “you know this costs is money”???? Shocked I stated, “we just spent $40 bucks with you. I think you can do a pump of Carmel”. Makes me sick to support small business that has this type attitude!! I would like to note the lady (blonde hair) that we did our order with initially was kind. The rude remark was made by dark hair. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This is not how you treat customers!

Celiac family Visiting North Myrtle. We missed them on Saturday (they close at 2 pm). They aren’t open on Monday. We had to be somewhere Sunday morning, and we were intentional to avoid arriving at the last minute. We arrived at 1:25 pm. Door was locked and the worker behind the counter shook her head at us and watched us standing there. TLDR: the food may be great (we wouldn’t know) but the listed hours are a joke. Edit at 2:45 pm after the worker replied below with an attempted guilt trip: all you had to do was communicate instead of stare at us. Things happen. The unprofessional reaction and reply says a lot about you and the establishment.

Main Street B&E is an interesting little bakery not far from the beach. There's just enough room to stand around and place an order and a few stools on a counter in the grill side of the restaurant, but that's it. There's almost no space inside, so it's in and out as fast as posisble.

You walk in and see a lot of bakery items on display (all excellent, BTW). The brewed coffee is in a carafe behind you when you walk in. I ordered said coffee and it wasn't remarkable. The pastries were great, though.

We had a chance to chat with the cook, who was super nice and had a genuine smile on his face. Would totally hang with him if I lived in town.

We also ordered some breakfast sandwiches which, unfortunately, came with that seared butter smell that really spoils an otherwise perfectly fine griddle food. I don't know where they get the bagels or the sausage but they tasted like they came out of a bag from the local grocery store (which would make sense, there's not a lot of room to cook in here).

I wouldn't go back for breakfast or coffee, but the pastries are...

We've ordered hotdogs and purchased bakery items. The baked good are very fresh and good, and the hot dogs we've ordered are done properly (a huge step up from the roller grill dogs of so many places in the area).

While the food is really good, the service could use work. Waiting around for the cashier to finish an order or waiting for the food to get cooked (even if you called ahead) is usual.

Unfortunately, I was there yesterday, and the person running the place accused me of trying to run off without paying (the flip-screen register locked, and the person who checked me out disappeared).

The "You have to finish paying!" shriek was embarrassing, and I expected some sort of apology for the trouble, but she stormed away while scowling at me while I waited for our food.

The food's good, just don't expect to be...

The employee or owner was extremely rude. I expect I will not be returning there. I drove there specifically to try out the bakery and simply asked if I needed to pay to park out front. The town has been changing the parking rules lately and didn’t know if there was a machine I needed to pay at. She went on about parking there all day and that it was only for businesses. I told her I specifically came there to buy something at this bakery. In any event, I do not recommend this establishment. I should have walked out without buying anything. I have a second home here and I do not need to park in front of this bakery to go to the beach and proceeded to tell her that. The fact that she made that assumption was outrageous. I don’t need her to take her parking problems out on me. I will take my...
