Pirate's Cove Rooftop — Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach

They have a really bad door person that does not understand customer service or the value of a customer. This short lady that works the door actually told me she did not care if I came back to the bar after I voiced my displeasure with how she greeted me at the door as I entered with a drink from another bar. I am 52, and understand that I could not enter with the drink, it many beach bars are forgiving so I tested the waters. She asked did I buy that drink here, I replied jokingly “ginger ale” and laughed. She started raising her voice and demands that I leave. The bar was at maybe 10% capacity. I mumbled ok and I won’t come back and she answered “Good”. The bar needed my business, since covid has killed the typical business in this town and regardless, more business is always good. This bar needs to do a better job screening employees that understand I was a hundred dollar tab that she just said “good” when I said I won’t come back because she was so offensive about me having a drink and joking with her about it. Any other bar, just politely explains that you can’t enter with a drink and let’s you finish it outside or throw it away and enter and does not become...

I try not to give 1 star reviews, honestly. I walked into the restuaraunt and was extremely confused as there was noone in there, I was not greeted at the door or sat at a table. My family of 4 were the only 4 in there, apart from the bartender, owner, cook and security staff. I had to ask if we could get seated to which the owner finally sat us at a table. The owner took my drink order, he brought the drinks out and all was fine. 20 minutes go by he takes our food order and had the biggest confusion and kept messing up the orders. The order was a ground beef burrito with rice, 2 crispy chicken sandwich meals and a hamburger. No special exceptions, just read straight off the menu. 15 minutes goes by they bring us chips and salsa. The salsa had legit just came out of the fridge or freezer, it was ice cold. The chips were stale and cold as well - which is very odd for a proclaimed Mexican restaurant. After waiting 10 more minutes we see the owner enter the store with the sandwich buns for the chicken sandwiches. 5 more minutes pass and we decide to leave, I left a crisp 20 underneath my drink, informed the bartender and went to a different restaurant.

Used to be my favorite place! The bar was remodeled last year and I was anxiously waiting on them to open back up. When they did I went back and the atmosphere was completely different. Just aweful! Completely different music. I was then informed it was under new ownership. It has the feel of Panama city during spring break, seems to be just a bunch of college aged vacationers experimenting with drugs. Also, vacationers who repeatedly visit cherry grove chose the area because we have a friendly local community feeling that myrtle does not offer. The owner is trying to turn main street into Broadway at the beach. The previous owner did not charge locals and the new owner does. The new owner will realize very soon that when the tourist are gone and we are the only ones still here that he needs the locals to support him through the winter months. He just will not make it...
