The Fudgery at Barefoot Landing — Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach

If I’m being completely honest, we only tried samples of the fudge, which was fantastic, but didn’t actually buy any at a place that literally has the word fudge in it’s name. Having said that, if you were going to offer other dessert options, they should be better or as good as the fudge in your name.

To keep it short and sweet (no pun intended), my son chose a candied apple but when I asked if they could cut it into slices they did not have a blade or willingness to do so. The candied coating was so hard, my son said it was biting into a jolly rancher and was not that appetizing. My daughter got a mango smoothie which she said was good, but pretty watered down and not much of a shaved ice texture. As for myself, I got an extremely watered down cookies and cream milkshake, that was nine parts milk and one part ice cream. Maybe this is a matter of opinion, but I like a milkshake that is thick, and makes the vein in my forehead pop. I want to be able to drink it through it a straw, but don’t mind if I have to finish it with a spoon.

At the end of the day, we were looking for a treat after miniature golf and we’re pretty disappointed that this is where we spent our money, when we could have gone a couple miles down the road to Kirks ice cream. Stopped in on my way to car, on a whim. Saw caramel apples. The deluxe has nuts. As a diabetic, if I'm going to cheat might as well get the nuts! I also got a piece of praline fudge. Snuck a piece of the fudge....very sweet....some parts a little grainy, some smooth. Ive determined I'm not really a fudge person.

When I got home I opened the apple and started slicing it. The stick started to slide out, so I picked up the apple. That's when I got a big surprise. MOLD...FUZZY MOLD on the top of the apple at the stem area. At $8 an apple I do not expect to get a moldy product. I plan on calling the store tomorrow and will update this review...

Went in store at 7:58pm was told by server Christina store was closing in 2 minutes while she was wrapping my fudge up. My daughter saw they had ice cream she said ice cream was closed for the night. We also asked her question about how much each slice weighed and boy did she give a big attitude in her answer. After I paid my mil that came in the store same time as myself wanted one piece of fudge was told no because she had to close her draw right at 8:00. Wish I could give no stars this is the worst customer service I have experienced my whole trip, I will not come back to this store. Also on google it says the store is open...
