Play It Again Sports — Local services in North Olmsted

Bad experience terrible customer service. Seems actively hostile towards new customers. Had all of my disc golf discs stolen, was told Play it again is a good location to get replacement discs. Person running the store told me they were doing a 50 percent off sale pointed to Giant rack of discs said if we buy 10 we get one free. After searching through their disks for about an hour and picking out a ton of discs, he changed his mind and said we don't combine promotions. I told him that is not what you stated before will you honor the free disc? He refused and said there's signs everywhere. I never saw them. We're talking about $4 of chewed plastic for free on my $100 purchase. Got about half the discs I was originally planning on getting. Left with a terrible impression of Play it again sports as my first and probably only time visiting. Also one of the discs I got exploded the moment it lightly touched grass in 47 degree weather which I would bring up with them but it's probably not worth an hour detour just to have the manager be hostile to me and refuse even a modicum of reasonable capitulation. He prefers reneging on his deals to be stingy about a couple dollars for a new customer. Surprised more of these locations aren't out of business. AVOID and just buy your discs brand new on innova factory second store...

I wish I could give 4 & 1/2 stars. That would be more accurate. The sales person I dealt with was very helpful and knowledgeable. I simply needed an inexpensive used baseball glove for my 6 year old boy to play in his rec league and a bat. As any sales person is going to do, they tried to initially sell me a used but almost new glove. Unfortunately, that one was priced the exact same as a new glove. (I had one waiting in my online Target cart, so I knew for sure the price). HOWEVER, when I explained that I was looking for a cheap glove that would still work well (my son keeps loosing his gloves 😖) they actively helped me find a glove that would work, fit, and meet my price requirements. They did not have any used bats in the size my son needed and they were selling new bats for 50.00 to 70.00. They were honest about not having used bats available. Summary: know the prices for new equalivant items before you go. They are still VERY helpful. Be an informed shopper and you will have a pretty good chance of walking...

UPDATE 7-1-2018 UNDER new ownership went in a week ago and things are much better. The new owner was there and he took his time with us to make sure we got the equipment my kids needed. He was excellent! Just wanted to update to reflect a solid mom and pop establishment. WAY better than big box sports stores. They also have an impressive selection of all kinds of gear, including Lacrosse, which can be difficult to find. Still dropped one star for previous issues there (see below). ORIGINAL REVIEW Have been going here for years, overall a great store except the last time I was there. I was looking for bulk items of a specific type. I called ahead and was told they had them. When I got there, they didn't have the items I asked about, I felt a bit misled by the employee. When I called him back after I left to let him know about it, I was met with disrespect and promptly hung up on. Not very good treatment of a customer that had to drive 20 minutes only to find they were misled just to get them...
