I walked into a large open space that from the outside had looked like a hole in the wall. No one had decorated the interior, but it was a vast clean space with a dividing wall that separated the dining area from what might have been the walk-in/take-out crowd though there was no one there to speak of and there were cartoons I didn’t recognize that might have been Kung Fu Panda playing on the wall mounted TVs. Comfortable though sparse and I avoided a seat by the window owing to time and the setting of the late afternoon sun.

I endeavored to order three soft ground beef tacos and was met with some minor consternation because I’d failed to check the menu and so we ultimately decided after doing so that I’d wanted the 3 Tacos Especial for $9.99 and I believe that is what I paid.

But then when the food came I had not the special with rice and beans, but only the three beef tacos with sides of chopped greens (that I might have liked as cilantro) sauteed onions that tasted like onion rings without the rings and lime wedges which all turned out to be anyway exactly what I was trying to get at in the first place making me wonder if the cook had been listening the entire while.

Ultimately - the variety of chopped meat remains a mystery, but it was really great tasting and all in all I thought they were incredible, juicy and super filling tacos that didn’t need beans or rice to satisfy my palate.

They were so good. I’d definitely go back...

We decided to check out this place after seeing it on tiktok.

I give it a solid 4/5

The horchata was amazing. The best I've had so far at a taco place.

The menu selection is great, ranging from flautas, sopes, quesabirria, machete, tacos etc.

We decided to try the beef fajita machete and the birria combo.

The quesabirria was okay. That's the reason I give it a 4/5 the meat could have been better. It tasted more like menudo or pozole. The seasoning is what was off. The meat was more chewy than expected and the tacos lacked cheese.

The machete was good. The combo came with fries which was also good. It was actually really big. I would say two people can eat with one plate. The beef fajita meat was delicious.

The service was great, the establishment was clean. I also found it to be affordable. 2 horchatas, machete combo and 4 quesabirria taco combo was $34 and some change.

I want to come again and try the flautas. I...

That’s it. It’s over. This place was so authentic up until now. Maybe they’re trying to cater to the bland community but I’m so disappointed. They used to have this salsa that was so hot and so good served in tiny cups, and now they are served in larger cups and the salsa is not hot at all doesn’t taste the same. Also, the tortillas on the tacos were so sad. They were not as greased as usual. I’m kind of sad because this was the place we would order from whenever we had family gatherings. These were the most authentic tacos in the area and now we have to keep looking. Also, something was missing in the toppings that they normally give us. I’m not sure if they usually include cucumbers or radishes, but I believe we were missing both this time. It was just cilantro and onions....

**A Hidden Gem for Authentic Mexican Cuisine!** I had the pleasure of visiting Taqueria Mexican in North Richland Hills for the first time while my husband was playing tennis nearby. From the moment we walked in, the warm atmosphere and welcoming staff set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The Chilaquiles were simply outstanding—perfectly balanced in flavor with a delicious crunch and rich sauce. My husband ordered the Al Pastor tacos, and he absolutely loved them! Having traveled extensively, we know great food when we taste it, and this spot truly delivers on authentic, flavorful Mexican cuisine. If you're in the area and looking for a place that serves fresh, expertly prepared dishes, Taqueria Mexican is a must-visit! We will definitely be back.

Tried it for the first time today and I will definitely come back. Got the quesobirria tacos, beef quesadilla and horchata. Portions were big. 4 tacos and a huge quesadilla. Both came with some lettuce and tomato and 2 types of salsa. Birria came with the consome. It was all delicious. The birria could have been a little crispier, they fell apart a little while trying to eat them, but totally worth it. Red salsa was a bit spicier than the green, but I think the green had better flavor. It was decently priced, about $10-$12 per meal. They also have trompo tacos for about $2 each. That will be the next thing I try
