I’m not usually one to write reviews, I believe everyone has bad days, but honestly this past experience here was horrible. The lines are always long at Dairy Queen in the summer and we knew that going in, but we waited half an hour inside the restaurant just waiting to order, with only three people in front of us ordering (why does it take 10 min between each guest who orders?) the teen working the register was apologetic but between each order would disappear into back and walk aimlessly looking at receipts and then come back. Then after ordering it took another 45 minutes to receive our food, and we only received it after I finally broke and went up to ask where our food was. Was told they lost our receipt. So we gave them our copy and then another 15 minutes went by, nothing. Ok so we go back up and ask if there was any update and the girl sighed and went and got food that had been sitting on the line for the past 30 min! So our food had been done, it was sitting there getting cold and no one even bothered to check who the food was for. Great. We’re handed our bags of food and we’re missing both our ice creams and cheese curd. So then we have to wait another almost 10 min for that. And I truly don’t think this was a matter of being understaffed, we saw two people cooking, 4 young girls over by the ice cream, one at the main register, and two on drive through. And the drive through line, although exceptionally long, was able to bait through at least 20-30 cars in that same time. This is totally unacceptable, and they mad a lot of people in the...
Read moreI'm a pessimistic, choleric agoraphobe that hates trying new things yet loves to pontificate about businesses the blue moon I buy something.
Being red-pilled on how little I make from a clerical job at a confectionary bakery has given me a rainy-day philosophy with my income and a subsequent compunction to try new things.
All that aside, I love my job because it affords me more exercise and better interpersonal relationships with cool people instead of being surrounded by pencil-pushing lemmings-wearing cutthroats in a skyscraper.
The daily surfeit of saccharine goods has made me averse to sweet things. I can't pass the House of Pancakes on Calumet and Ridge Road for my commute sans writhing in disgust from imagining how sweet their breakfast might be. I now drink my Lipton tea black without 2 scoops of brown sugar without my teeth wincing at my bowl of brown sugar. This sounds like pre-diabetes now that Im writing this.
With all that, I experienced wanderlust for Dairy Queen after eating a Schoops plain bacon cheeseburger with a large side of fries and barbeque sauce. I'm not going to eat this when I'm old, so I eat this stuff now.
Dairy Queen did not disappoint with a medium vanilla sundae with chocolate dip and sprinkles for $3.88. I went home content with this as the complement to the...
Read moreI was doordashing in the Munster area until recently when I found a new job. The majority of the staff at this location, particularly the management, are beyond rude, especially the manager JOSH. The staff is so cold, bitter and rude to Doordashers. Not only me but other food delivery service workers I would see come in for a to go order while waiting. I would come in and without addressing my order JOSH would lock eyes with me sigh deeply and roll his eyes heavily and would say "name!". I said, "why do you see me and frown like this? I haven't even said anything to you yet." His rude response was, "because I HATE doordash orders." A member of higher management, not a child manager in their early 20s but an actual grown adult manager, needs to have a conversation with the children management they have on board that Dairy Queen CHOSE to create a business partnership with food delivery services like Doordash to move additional weight for them and make extra money via to go orders. Because in reality you and your delivery service drivers that Dairy Queen choose to partner up with, WORK together. Stop allowing your store management to treat private contractors like 2nd class citizens. JOSH either needs to go or needs additional training as a manager because his managerial style is an...
