I must first start by stating that I love this pizzeria and I am changing my review on here because of last nights service. I called to order a deep dish for delivery and I made a request that I have done for many years. Pesto mixed in with the sauce. I’ve never had an issue with it until last night. The person who took my order was perplexed by it and the cook must have been too because when receiving the pizza we got an over cooked under sauced pizza. When I called in to rectify the situation I was met with a horrendous attitude by part of the manager that acted pompous condescending and dismissive. Telling me “ I’m sorry that’s how you feel” which was odd I was telling her that I “felt the pizza was over cooked I was telling it was over cooked and I told her the sauce was wrong. At this point she went on to tell me that they removed an amount of tomato sauce to make room for the pesto because if they put on the same amount with pesto it would “overflow” which is completely stupid because what if the pesto was out below the sauce with the ingredients and the same amount of sauce was put on? Well then with her logic it would overflow. Anyways she continued to talk about feelings and I wanted to find a solution which she was not about. I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience last night and more so because I take pride I. The Chicagoland pizza experience and I loved behind edwardos for many years growing up eating this pizza and I have worked at numerous pizzerias in this region and never have I heard a manager talk to a customer like I was talked to last night. That lady has a superiority complex and needs to find a different job because she is unpleasant amd not a...
Read moreWe aren't from the area, but were passing through from Oklahoma on our way to Michigan. My husband said he wanted Chicago-style pizza, and this place wa on our route. From the road, we ordered basic stuffed sausage and cheese pizzas to go. We were told it would take 45-50 minutes for them to be ready ... that was about right. When we went to pick them up, the hostess asked those who came to dine in if they had pre-ordered. My thought is that if you go to this restaurant, you're expecting to wait, because delicious pizza isn't something you rush. The ingredients all seem fresh and made in the restaurant. My family all said the pizza was delicious (none of them had ever had Chicago-style before) and substantially filling (I couldn't eat it because I have to eat GF, and this location didn't have GF crust). It might not have been the best choice for travel food, but we don't regret getting it. My husband said it was a stop worth repeating (which means it was good as we had already been in the car for 10 hours and still...
Read moreThe food was appetizing. We all had the bread chips which would have been vastly improved if we had gotten the true bread dipping sauce. Instead our server gave us olive oil that was poured right out of the bottle with no spices. They were so good I almost didn't have room for my entree. I should have ordered some to go.
Our server seemed a little distracted, but she was the only one working our entire area. Next my husband and his mother had a thin crust pizza with lots of meat and veggies. My husband finished his half that day. I had the appetizer sized stuffed ravioli with pesto and was filling enough to not need the entree size.
The entrance is not made for people using mobility devices. I use a rollator and it took 2 people to get me in the building- one to hold the door open and the other to get my rollator and me up the stairs. It would be difficult for a lone diner with a mobility device to get in. The bathroom was...
