We went for dinner, off season. This is a cash only restaurant, but they have an ATM in the bar/restaurant. There are two entrances. The one on the left takes you directly into the bar and there are tables alongside the bar. You may eat at the bar. The other entrance takes you directly into the restaurant. You can move from one room to the other through openings in a wall and you can see from one room into the other through a glass panel above the wall separating the rooms. We entered the restaurant and were seated immediately, even though we arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday evening on a busy weekend. The bar was packed. There was only a table or two open. It was loud from music and voices but we could still hear each other talk, as long as we spoke a little louder than normal. The food was good, although I had a huge portion of mixed green beans with a few carrots tossed in, which they called mixed vegetables. They were still cooked the way I like them, but not seasoned. The meat was a little small, as compared to other restaurans. My daughter and I ordered blackened salmon with roasted red peppers, and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. I opted for a second vegetable, cole slaw, which was pretty basic. My daughter got French Fries for my 2 yr old grandson, who seemed to like them. He loved the pasta. My husband had chicken parm with pasta, and while it was good, the pasta was a small portion. My son-in-law had the crab cakes, said they were very good, as were the roasted potatoes. Both men's meat portions were good size. We've been there before and will return...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill. The menu hasn't changed in years, and that's not the only thing that is stale. Pasta dishes are horrible...overcooked mushy pasta is the norm, and absolutely flavorless sauce from a jar is typical. My chicken parm came out in less than 3 minutes. What's that tell ya? Flavorless sauce is actually an understatement. Ingredients used are clearly cheap to keep their prices low, but I'd rather pay more to get a decent meal. We ordered a table appetizer, the nachos supreme. There was barely enough "cheeze wiz", across the top of the stale chips, that we had to ask for a bit more since the majority of chips underneath were completely dry. And their wings are absolutely ridiculous...they deep fry them, and serve them totally dry, with the wing sauce on the side. Perhaps it saves them time, but if you want to taste horrible wings, serve them this way. The last time I was there, the waitress asked if we wanted a roll with my meal. "Isn't that included?" I asked. She said they now have to ask since people weren't eating them. You know why? Because it's horrible bread. If you go to this place, remember...it's a pub...order your brew with burgers and cheese steaks...stay away from their dinners. Everything is designed to be thrown together quickly in the kitchen, and their choice of low quality ingredients is...
Read moreWent to Owens’s Pub on 7-28-22 at around 7:30pm. The place was already packed and it was a 30 minute wait. We decided to wait the 30 minutes. They did have a guy there singing for folks to enjoy if that is your thing. They have specials everyday of the week!
For an appetizer I ordered the BBQ wings. You get 8 for $8.99. Wings came out nice and hot. These tasted amazing. BBQ was a wet sticky sauce which isn’t what I’m used to but I loved the sauce! I definitely recommend!
For my meal, I ordered the Thursday night special which was a cheeseburger for $3.95. I also ordered Old Bay Fries with the burger which was $5.99. Honestly didn’t know what to expect from the burger, but I was surprised on how good it was! The old bay fries were amazing. Plenty of seasoning on them and cooked perfectly! I definitely recommend as well!
Not going to lie, service was a bit slow, but they were packed as first mentioned above. This is a CASH ONLY pub and there are NO FREE REFILLS on soft drinks. They hand write your order down with prices so please make sure to check it over because our waitress made a mistake and charged me full price for the cheeseburger that was on special. She of course corrected. I still give Owen’s Pub 5 stars even with the slow service and is a must eat for people on vacation...
