Jake's Eatery — Restaurant in Northampton Township

I see mixed reviews for Jake's, and truth be told, I have never come to Jake's for anything but breakfast. It seems like the mixed reviews come from people who are going for lunch or dinner. While they do have a full bar and plenty of seating for lunch/dinner, I try to judge restaurants based on what I know they do well - which is breakfast in this case. Jake's is a diner at heart, and if you don't go to a diner to order an omelette, you're likely doing it wrong. That said, Jake's excels when it comes to omelettes. I prefer to build my own omelette, and I always get the same one, which is as follows: egg whites, broccoli, spinach, onions, sausage and cheddar. Extra onions on the potatoes and the potatoes well-done. What I love is that you tell them extra onions on the potatoes and they load it up with onions like you wouldn't imagine. I'll have to add a picture of what that looks like. I have yet to order this and not love it, and I've definitely gotten this omelette 30+ times. My sisters and family agree this is the spot for omelettes (breakfast is our favorite meal), and I'm really thankful this is so close to home. recently visited a delightful diner in Pennsylvania and had a fantastic experience! I ordered the eggs Benedict with sausage, as I prefer sausage over the traditional ham, and it did not disappoint. The flavors were superb, and the dish was beautifully presented. The atmosphere of the diner was charming, with two distinct sections—one featuring a cozy bar. I initially sat at the bar, where I could enjoy the lively interactions among the staff. They were truly wonderful, engaging, and seemed to genuinely enjoy their work. However, there were quite a few employees chatting while doing some cleanup for the chef, which prompted me to seek a little more privacy. I moved to a quieter spot on the right side of the diner. Despite the bustling environment, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff remained consistent throughout my visit. It was clear they valued their customers and took pride in providing excellent service. Overall, the food was incredible, and I left feeling very satisfied. I highly recommend this diner for anyone in the area looking for a great meal accompanied by cheerful service. I will definitely be returning...

Almost every time that we have eaten at Jakes it has been a very good experience up until today 10/22/16. We were all in for the two 8 Oz stuffed pork chop special. Good service started off well Danny K seemed new but did quite well considering the number of staff standing around doing very little. We had very high expectations, however, when our dinners came the disappointment became a reality. For starters the 2 chops might have weighed 8 ozs total prior to cooking and we're chared and overcook tasting like they were left over from thursday (first day of this weekend special) the mac n cheese was tasty but dry and they rest of the meal palatable. This truly was a letdown especially after paying our $55 dollar bill plus the 10 dollar tip. Times are tough especially when you live on a retirement pension and tight budget like ours. We like Jakes overall but we're disappointed tonight. I guess we will stick to bread...
