Full disclosure: This is my "Cheers"; I know everyone, and everything on the menu. The staff is a blend of somewhat transient students and folks who've been here for years - and just an all-around excellent group of people. The food comes from local sources and a significant share of it comes from the owners' own farm. It's all fresh, all delicious and, while not a huge menu, no matter what your dietary preferences/restrictions, you'll find something delicious you can eat here; vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, diabetic-friendly...you've got it. The sandwiches are creative (do check out the Nantucket!) and served on their own freshly baked breads and rolls. There's a daily special and daily breads and soups. The baked goods are excellent - the heavenly aroma of breads and pastries wafting down the street in the mornings is no lie. If you have a chocolate addiction, this is the place to satisfy it. (The pain au chocolate is sooo good). Beverages. Seriously, pass right by the Starbucks and head here, instead. I had my first americano here and was instantly converted. And the cafƩ mocha...rhapsody. There's a generous selection of black, green, white, and herbal teas along with cider, in season, and Italian soda. The space can get crowded, as it's a great place to meet up, study, and people-watch. It's popular for those catching their morning coffee/tea fix, and taking their lunch breaks. Things quiet down between these times. It's populated with students, parents with small children, seniors, and everyone in between. Parking can be a challenge at the busiest times (the lot next door is reserved parking - don't do it). Restrooms are available, and...

Woodstar Cafe, nestled in the bustling heart of town, stands as a beacon for food lovers seeking a diverse and delectable menu. This charming cafe offers an array of options that cater to a wide range of dietary preferences, ensuring everyone finds something to relish. From freshly baked pastries that melt in your mouth to hearty, savory dishes that satisfy the soul, each item is prepared with care and bursting with flavor. The quality of the food is consistently high, a testament to the cafe's dedication to culinary excellence.

However, its popularity is both a blessing and a curse. The mornings at Woodstar Cafe are often crowded, with the hustle and bustle of patrons eager to start their day with a delicious meal. While the vibrant atmosphere can be invigorating, it also means that finding a seat can be a challenge, and the wait times for service can extend longer than anticipated. This bustling environment, though a sign of the cafe's success and appeal, might not suit those in search of a quiet, leisurely breakfast experience.

Despite the crowds, the allure of Woodstar Cafe's exceptional food and the variety it offers make braving the busy mornings worthwhile for many. It's a testament to the cafe's allure that patrons continue to return, drawn by the promise of a delicious meal that can set the tone for the rest of their day. For those who can embrace the lively atmosphere or who choose to visit during the quieter hours, Woodstar Cafe remains a culinary gem...

HEAR ME OUT. I’m a mega-fan of this place. Seriously. It deserves way more than 3 stars. I’ve been going here since it opened many moons ago. But here’s the thing: THE reason for going here is for the RASPBERRY OATMEAL MUFFIN. Not this inferior mixed berry nonsense. They took perhaps the best muffin in the history of the existence of muffins and took away its magic, and jammed in some lesser berries. I’ve waited patiently for over 2.5 years now, I’ve called and talked to many people about this every few months, but to no avail. I get that prices might be crazy, so then charge double for it, I beg of thee! Right this wrong! Undo this terrible assault to muffindom! Please, PLEASE, for the love of what’s GOOD, BRING BACK THE RASPBERRY OATMEAL MUFFIN. Use extra raspberries not less. Don’t cut corners here! I’m ready to give you SIX stars, I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!!

P.S. to any fools still reading my rant, this place is genuinely awesome, all the baked goods are bomb, the coffee drinks are insanely tasty, and the employees are so kind. Even the mixed berry muffin I so besmirch is solid. But having tasted perfection, it just doesn’t compare. ĀÆ(惄)/ĀÆ

UPDATE: THE MUFFINS ARE BACK! I repeat THE MUFFINS ARE BACK! Thank you Woodstar! Y’all rock!!!!! I’m leaving up the previous review because I’m unhinged and it’s too funny...

This is one of my favorite bakeries, ever. They have gluten free and vegan options, Paleo options, bagels and sandwiches, and fresh baked bread. And everything is downright delicious, I have yet to try something there I don't like. It used to be a 13-hour drive away, now it's just an hour drive -- still to far for regular visits, so whenever we go I make sure to stock up. The raspberry chocolate cupcakes (gluten free and vegan) are by far my favorite thing here šŸ’œ
