Tea Gather — Restaurant in Northville

My favorite boba shop, and a favorite of many in the area.

My go to is the basic brown sugar boba milk tea, however plenty of their fruit offerings are good as well (though I haven’t had them regularly in a couple years). Occasionally if you go towards the end of the day they run out of brown sugar boba, which isn’t terrible because they have plenty of other good offerings.

I’ve had their bubble waffles, chicken, and tofu on a few separate occasions and they are all always pretty good.

During the school year it’s not uncommon to see students from Northville or Novi High meeting up here, as the atmosphere is very laid back and there is indoor and outdoor spaces to work on homework, play games, or simply chat. As a recent graduate of Novi High, I can say that some of my favorite memories are of hanging out with friends here.

I am giving this 5 stars. I am not a fan of boba but my friends wanted on my birthday, we went there and got something eat as well as something to drink. Only 1 of my friend got boba actually. We got the popcorn chicken which came with basil. It was steaming hot, basically it was freshly made and not frozen. The chicken was just too amazing that every bite I took I said this is so goooood! I just couldn’t stop exaggerating. Whenever someone asks what food I like, I will be specific and tell them it’s popcorn chicken from Tea Gather in Downtown Northville. Please don’t ever shut down Tea Gather. Your popcorn chicken is better than KFC although I never ate KFC’s popcorn chicken. I think I am gonna become a regular customer of your cafe. I think I will spend money once a week for that delicious popcorn chicken you make. Try the popcorn...

Here's the TLDR: The owner screams at employees in front of customers, and sticks his hands in customer's faces and yells at them.

Went in with my 4 year old and 7 year old, ordered a large strawberry smoothie split in two for them. Employee agreed, I said thank you. Owner then screamed at employee and when handing my drinks to me he got in my face while I was holding my 4 year old and essentially yelled at me. Won't be back, I recommend spending your money at the other bubble tea place not but a mile away where they treat their employees and customers with respect. Feel really bad for the employee, I'm tempted to drive back and offer him $500 to quit on the spot not gonna...
