Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Norwalk

On Feb 8, 2017 I ate at this Applebees. I was amazed at the horrible service. I came with 3 colleagues. We got there at 11:54am. The server finally came to take our "drink order " at 12:13p. We all ordered water. WATER finally came at 12:37p . Some of us got water with lemon, some of us didn't. Some of us got ice water, some of us got water with no ice. Before we could protest the server, (Jesus) rushed off. At 12:49p a different server (female) took our order. At 12:58p, the water boy sever (Jesus) came back retook the order we had given to the other server at 12:49p. He apologized for having to retake thr order saying the other server didn't take a complete order so he wanted to start over. I immediately started looking for the hidden cameras because this had to be a joke. We all ordered SALADS as our time was limited. At 1:25p we were still filling up on water, so I asked one of the bus boys to summons the manager. At 1:36 our food arrived. I have no idea why it took over 40min to prepare and serve 4 salads. The restaurant was almost empty. Maybe 12 tables were occupied. No one at The bar, and the other half of the restaurant was completely empty. Anyways, the salads, all of them, were poorly made. 7-Eleven salads is the best way to describe them. The manager came out at 1:38p. She was very patronizing in demeanor . As we complained, her stare was blank. It was like we were talking to a wall. She just kept nodding her head and saying, "unh huh, unh huh, I will go to the kitchen and see what's going on. I know we are backed up." She kept repeating that same sentence rotely without any resolve. After 2 min of talking to an unresponsive manager, she left. We never saw her again. At 1:45 we asked for the check. At 1:50p (the quickest service we received thus far), we got the check. We paid with our visa cards and I left a tip that that read, "Don't go to Chicago in the winter." And left. WORST SERVICE EVER! I'm...

HORRIBLE SERVICE EVER! This is a ZERO star review. Yesterday my family and I, stopped at the Applebees in Norwalk for dinner prior to heading to the Downey animal shelter SEAACA. Service started ok, waitress took our drink order, got our drinks fairly quick. She took our entrée order, got our two appetizers but after that we waited, waited and waited approximately 30 minutes for our food to arrive. As our food was being placed we asked for extra ranch, salad dressing and drink refills. Our waitress acknowledge and said "be right back". As she was tending the table next to us, my wife kindly reminder her about extra ranch, salad dressing and drink refills waitress said "they are on their way". We waited 20 minutes and nothing. Get this, waitress did not come out to provide service to our table or any other of her tables for 20 minutes plus, that's unacceptable. At no point did she come to our table and say "I will be taking my break" or send another waiter or waitress to check on us. Even my kids said why would she not take a few minutes to notify us that she's taking a break and introduce a back up. I notified the hostess twice to find our waitress, but nothing, our waitress never came nor did anyone else. At this point, still no ranch, salad dressing or drink refills. My wife did not enjoy her salad, she said it was too dry, my daughter did not have ranch dip for her chicken tenders and kids and I had no drinks refills for over 20 minutes. So I, paid the bill on the table tablet because we had to go. The animal shelter was closing at 5pm and it was 4:35pm. And guess what, our waitress showed up! Nearly 25 minutes later, she looked bothered and did not apologize at any point she just had a clueless look on her. My family and I, will never step foot in an Applbee's ever again!...

Should've known better than to order a steak at a place like this, but here's my experience. It's fake. No blood, no marbling, and had the exact same texture as pork, but rubbery. Steak was almost colorless; the manager insisted it was real beef. No. Also, it tasted salty enough to give a kidney stone the size of my fist.

Also ordered a salad. Was supposed to be one of those "gourmet/special" salads that come partially chopped, the rest left as a head of lettuce. I've had these kinds of salads before at other restaurants, and they're delicious and crunchy.

Applebee's version of this tried and true classic is putting a plain half-head of cabbage on a bare plate, and drizzling some watery dressing on top with some sad brown specks in it (later realized it was bacon).

Waitress gave us a bad attitude, immediately going on the defensive and questioning us when we said we had some concerns about our food. Pointed words, sharp attitude.

And in the end, they still made us pay. If I weren't in the company of guests, I would've angrily demanded my money back. The whole experience was just awful. I get better service at McDonald's. Did I mention our food took nearly an hour to reach us?
