The “bonbons” here are truly the best truffle-style chocolates I have ever tasted in my entire life! I lived in Switzerland for five years and regularly enjoyed what I thought was the best of the best, but the truffles I had there do not even come close to these wonderful creations. They are so light and so flavorful. I felt as if I had gone to Heaven while they were in my mouth!

I’m more of a chocolate bar kind of person but that was before I tried these bonbons. If given the option to eat only my favorite bar or these bonbons for the rest of my life, I really think I would pick these bonbons. I would have to. They were that good.

Don’t waste your time on the chocolate squares — they are okay, probably around average for an artisan chocolate shop like this. But the bonbons are so good you will really want to fill your whole box with them. Any square you get will be one fewer bonbon you can enjoy! I know the bonbons might look too adventurous for some people but I implore you to take the leap of faith because they are seriously that good.

I normally don’t write reviews on Google but I had to write one the minute I finished my last bonbon because they were that good. Chocs ‘N Boxes has a new customer for life!

Update: I just tried their 70% almond bar and it was similarly divine. I get really picky with my bars but this might just be one of the best ones I’ve ever had if not the best. My husband and I travel the world for fine chocolate. Unfortunately Chicago doesn’t have a lot of good chocolate. However, with exception of Burdick, Chocs N Boxes is the hot new place that we’ve come to love. Clean ingredients, excellent flavor profiles, no alkalized chocolate yet smooth and creamy, with real food ingredients; worth every penny. So glad to have found them. I liked the owner’s advocacy and commitment to bring sustainable livelihood to families all over the world , that’s chocolate with a cause. Now let’s talk about the products.
