Laverne's Lunch Wagon & Catering — Restaurant in Oʻahu

Laverne’s is one of a handful of my top favorite Lunch Wagons and definitely my top spot for a smoked meat plate. I always get this if we decide to take out from here. Meaty smoky goodness with onions really hits the spot for satisfying that smoke flavor taste cravings! Delicious!!! I like mine with all white rice, but normally it comes with two scoops of white rice and mac/tossed salad. I was told the pork adobo was here good too. So If your in Waikele come check them out and support our local businesses!!

Update: My Smoked Meat Plate with all white rice is still delicious as ever and the husband tried the Beef Stew and really enjoyed it as well. Thick and hearty flavorful sauce with plenty of chunky veggies and stew meat.

10/30/2022 My mom enjoyed the Kalua Pig Cabbage Plate. She said it was soft to chew. Chicken long rice had a nice mild flavor with a ginger flavor as well. My husband tried the Roast Pork Plate for the first time and said meat was tender and gravy was flavorful.

05/18/2023 Husband picked up dinner after work. My favorite Smoked meat plate with delicious smoked onions is still #1 and my husband still loves the roast pork plate- still as good as ever. Got mom the mini chicken long rice. She loves it. Mild ginger flavor. Terrific Dinner!! If u haven’t yet, check them out. U won’t be disappointed.

08/19/2023 Aloha everyone! Updating again for Laverne’s Lunch Wagon. After work my husband grabbed us dinner- my favorite, smoked meat plate with all white rice At Laverne’s Lunch Wagon. This plate literally lasts me 3 meals it’s so filling and satisfying. Rich smoky flavor just makes your mouth water and you can’t wait to dig in! Delicious!! 🤤 my husband got his regular- the roast pork plate but sadly they made a mistake and gave him all white rice too instead of the Mac Salad. He was not happy but his meal was good and it really helped that he ordered gravy all over this time! People make mistakes, and after all the times we ate here, it was a first. It didn’t take away from the quality of their food as well,so make sure you take just a extra minute to check your order before you leave 👍

So my daughter and I have been ordering food thru different apps since May. Today, we saw that a new place has been added to door dash so we decided to try it. I ordered the pork adobe combo (rice/mac salad/haupia), and my daughter ordered beef stew combo (rice/mac salad/haupia.) We also ordered side rice, more haupia, smoked meat, more pork adobo and squid luau. I must say...their presentation was on point. Our lunch plates were nicely packed. It wasn't just thrown in there. And for the taste!! I don't know who cooked today, but it was DELICIOUS! Super impressed with the squid luau!!. Perfectly Packed and absolutely tasty! Exactly what we needed on a cloudy day like today....and yes, we are aware we got carried away with our order, but it was totally worth...

We were stoked to eat here. We ordered the number 1 and the Mahi butter garlic. We have traveled all over the globe (My wife and I). We thoroughly enjoyed the food here. It reminded me of Baja Mahi and she got the chicken, pork rice and green squid dish (I can’t remember the name) but it was the number 1 in the combo dish area on the menu.

What a surprise of flavor, love and friendliness from this awesome food. We love local food and this place tops our list of places to experience in the world. (Our country list includes Bahamas, Canada, Mexico, Australia, USA, Honduras, United Kingdom, Germany, and France)!
