The malasadas are just as good and come out piping hot and sugary. So if you don't feel like trekking into town, this truck located at Waikele is a good option. However, they don't have as many options in terms of flavors. They really just have the basic ones and none of the special/unique ones. Also service isn't great. Whoever was taking orders that day was not very friendly. She definitely didn't want to be there. Hubby ordered a box of malasadas but my dad wanted a plain one, so I ordered a single malasada separately since hubby had already placed the order. It seemed that everyone else was ordering in bulk. Not just a box - I'm talking multiple boxes. I'm fine with waiting my turn but at the same time, it's also one rinky dink malasada. I even ordered things from two other trucks nearby, received my order, and my malasada wasn't even ready (this was about 15 minutes of waiting at this point). So I went up to her and asked her about it - she didn't respond or anything, and just turned around to pack me the single malasada. Like??? Come on...you could have done that before! There was no need for that. Even though that was slightly annoying, I would still probably come back just out of convenience. I'll just have to pray I don't get that same employee again.

While picking up tonight’s dinner at one of our favorite lunch wagons, my husband decided to pick up dessert as well right next door at Leonard’s Malasadamobile wagon in Waikele. Who doesn’t love hot malasadas?! Always hot and delicious, these yummy and sugary soft pillows of wonderfulness really hits your sweet tooth spot. I noticed one was already missing when I opened the box!! The nostalgic and ever popular pink box is a true original favorite that always brings back sweet childhood memories. Gotta try the original malasadas, but the filled ones are very delicious too. These were picked up around 6:30 so no long line to wait in, but its worth it even if you do have to stand in a long line. Next time i really want to try the Li hing flavor. I heard it was great. Continue to support our local longtime businesses! Updated 02/21/2023 😉🤙

Perhaps I don't eat malasadas enough but I thought this food truck was just as good as the brick and mortar shop in town. One thing I can tell you for sure is the staff here is much more friendly. However it is possibly because they are less busy here and have more time to interact with customers. It's Leonard's your going to get good malasadas or at least what non-Portuguese people think are good malasadas. Our personal favorite is the custard and chocolate filled malasadas. And out biggest tip is to eat it right away. Like all fried foods, they taste way better when they are hot and fresh.

So I‘m gonna be honest! The Malasadas are really good, the best ones we had on Island so far! The prices and quality are awesome, fresh & just so delicious! definitely recommend! But I have to say the Service in Waipahu couldn’t be worse! This Lady is so unfriendly and made me and my husband just feel completely unwelcome!! if the food wouldn’t be that delicious we wouldn’t go there no more. The first time we went I just thought she might have a bad day, When I asked if I could pay with card she didn’t say anything just laughed at me and rolled her eyes, there was no hello or thank you or any kind of communication besides: „ it needs to be 5,80$ to pay with card“ The second time, today my husband went and he told me the same thing, super unfriendly! she ignored him for a minute before even taking his order even tho there was no one else. We will not go there no more we rather go to the original location in Honolulu because the service there is awesome friendly staff & good malasadas even if we have to drive a little longer it’s worth it.

So the food is 5/5 Service 1/4 (Waipahu)...

This review is written about the Malasadamobile Wagon by the Waikele Premium Outlets. I have been to the original Leonard's location many times and love the place and the things they make, and would give them 5 stars!

However, this mobile wagon, on this particular occasion, is lucky to get even the 3 stars I am giving. The woman taking the orders was extremely unfriendly, to not only us but to everyone I noticed in line around us. Not a single thank you was even heard. Just take the order, money and next!

I ordered 2 malasadas and I am not sure if they have a different cooking procedure at this mobile wagon but they were definitely not up to the quality of the bakery location. Normally they are light but these were very doughy and not real fresh tasting for some reason.

I don't know what the problems were but this was not a day I would recommend...
