Ray's Kiawe Broiled Chicken — Restaurant in Oʻahu

Probably my highlight meal on the North Shore, I think they're only at this Haleiwa location on the weekend, so plan carefully if you want to try Huli Huli Chicken here!

You can smell the chicken before you can see the stand, located in the parking lot of a grocery store. they setup a portable rotisserie trailer cooking dozens of chickens at a time. Line was long, but served quickly, you pay and get a number and are called when its ready.

I opted for the half chicken with pineapple coleslaw. So tender and juicy, the Huli Huli taste really sets it apart from regular BBQ chicken (its a blend of juices and sauces). All the pieces of chicken were uniformly cooked. Coleslaw was also very enjoyable. Reasonable price for the meal as well!

No seating here specifically setup up by the vendor. I went and sat at what I thought was a bench nearby, but turned out to be a bus stop. While many other did the same, I felt this was probably frowned on by the bus drivers who don't know if you're a...

Always love the chicken love the service, workers are so pleasant so kind and compassionate the quality of service grabs you strait at the heart not only is the chicken delicious, the workers work really hard in my observation while waiting no matter how tireless it seems they still take the time to greet and say thank you and have a blessed day. First, I love the business model. Do one thing, but do it well and open only weekends. Besides smelling awesome when you walk up, they have a nice organized system to get you through. The chicken was moist and flavorful. I love that they charge a good price on drinks. My only complaint is I wanted to try the pineapple slaw, I thought it came with the dinner plate, but I guess you have to ask. The rice was good that came with it, but that was just rice, nothing special. Another tip, order from the right side, then pickup order on the left side. Also be prepared to have a place to eat, it is take out only with no tables anywhere. Cash only too, but...
