Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Oak Ridge

I took my wife and daughter out to dinner tonight. We arrived around 5. Our server, Jenny, was quick to appear. Little did we know this would be the only time she would be quick to appear. She took our drink order, which took about 10 minutes to get to the table, and then she forgot my drink, a water without ice. A few minutes pass and she hasn't come back for our order. We patiently wait as we watch others come in, get seated and get their appetizers. Finally our waitress appears. She looked highly inconvenienced as she took the appetizer order and the order for the 3 year old. We ordered a combo appetizer. My daughters food arrived and it wasn't even hot. It was probably sitting back there just waiting for a while before she brought it out. After that, a few minutes later, appetizer showed up. Then she leaves again. No refill on drinks, no taking an order, nothing. We took our time eating our barely warm appetizer, waited and waited until our waitress decided to grace us with her presence again. Finally after a good wait, we were able to get her attention long enough to get drink refills. About 5 minutes later, we got the refills and were finally allowed to place an order for food. I ordered the chicken and shrimp.with mashed potatoes and my wife got the mushroom Swiss burger with fries. I will start with mine. The only thing hot about that meal was the plate. The mashed potatoes were so terrible. The shrimp probably could have auditioned to be a basketball in the NBA. They were rubbery. The chicken, dry. My wife's burger was mush. Way too soft. Almost like the meat was put in a blender and it had no form to it. Hardee's makes a better mushroom and Swiss and it's cheaper. Her fries were horrible. I tasted her food, as she tasted mine.

No military discount according to Jenny also. Kids don't eat free either with purchase of regular priced entree either. Manager was useless. Hostess people were talking about their personal lives right behind our table.

Overall, I will never return to this facility. Horrible service. Horrible employee etiquette. Disgusting food...

Horrible from the time we got their to the time we left. We in stood there for about 5mins the lady up front in the gray shirt told us just to have a seat never said a wait time and was very rude. We sit their about another five mins got a table got our drinks (coke) witch tasted awful, then our cousin got a green leprechaun drink that she never ask for an id for but he showed it anyway we ordered our food chicken strips, lime chicken, and a burger we sit their over an hour we watched 3 families came in sit down eat and leave all at the same table, while we never received our food other than cheese sticks so we got up left and went somewhere else. The waiter wasn’t the issue either she was a sweetheart I’m assuming maybe new? But the fact we never received food after waiting over an hour was the issue. I hate to leave reviews as never hardly do but this experience was awful. Also I know they was busy and I understand that but the issue was like I said we seen 3 couples come in that all sat at the table across from us receive their food and leave. So to us it felt like either our food was forgot about or gave to someone else and we did ask about multiple times and she said 5 more mins for about 20 mins straight. Went for a late lunch with a friend. Server was great. However I ordered a 8oz sirloin, they gave me a 6oz. No biggie they bring me the 8 Oz. But I wanted it medium well and the second steak was still blue in the middle. At that point I didn't want to wait any longer so I just asked to order a blondie a d I'd just grab a burger on the way home. The server was super sweet and apologized, not her fault. And I wasn't angry just wanted to get the tab and go get something else to eat, but then decided to get the BBQ wings instead. Only half were edible the others were hard and hard to cut let alone eat. Meanwhile the GM was sitting at a bar table on his phone while customers waited at least 3 to 5 mins at the door to be sat. And never even came to our table to say anything at all. Made the server do it. That rubs me the wrong way. So not a great time today and they weren't busy at all when we came in all other staff was busy and running around and he just sat there. They did comp my meal and give me a 20$ card to come back butttt I likely won't go back. Again server 10/10. Their staff stayed moving and working but I don't like the GMs lack of table side manners or the fact he can't help seat customers. As a former FOH manager...
