"Extreme disrespect and no accountability after years of support"

For four years, I gladly supported this cafe by cleaning, creating and running its Instagram, assisting at events, and too many other things to list—all unpaid because I valued the place and our friendship. I was also a daily paying customer.

Over time, the owner’s mood swings, likely from exhaustion and stress, increased significantly. This culminated in him cursing at me in front of other customers over a minor question, and later stating we were never friends. After continued verbal abuse, I removed my plants and some of the decorations I had brought in.

I want to let the comunity of Oakland what a fine Establishment this place is. A couple of weeks ago i was downtown with my 3 year old daughter and we walked the entire block looking for any restauraunt or business for my daughter to use the restroom and were denied by everyone even after i offered to buy something.All except for Coco Cafe that is.The Owner/Manager saw a little girl who needed a restroom and helped us and unselfishly expecting nothing in return.I wish there were more businesses like this with a heart for people and their community instead of just businesses only Caring about money and themselves.THANK YOU COCO CAFE! Great little cafe. I work in downtown Oakland and wanted to find a new place for breakfast. I happily stumbled upon this cafe and did not leave disappointed. I ordered the breakfast burrito and a vanilla latte. The burrito was delicious. It comes with your choice of breakfast meat (chicken sausage, bacon, ham…), eggs, tomatoes, cheese, guacamole and jalapeños. You can add or remove items if you want. The latte was a bit too sweet for my liking. I’m guessing the gentleman at the counter is the owner and he was very nice and welcoming. As I ordered my food and drink, it started to get busy, which is a good sign. I definitely recommend this cafe. I’ll be back to try other items...
